My plans to chill with an old friend fell thru for Thanksgiving. My closest really good friend lives 3 hours away but my gf is moving down. So to save $ for us, I spent turkey day alone. I cleaned & worked out a ton.
Thxsgiving dinner consisted of canned soup and watching Trailer Park Boys. GF calls & tells me she's moving down a few weeks ahead of schedule. My nether regions knows that's a very VERY good thing.

After my great grandfather passed away last year (not the yay part, obviously), my grandmother sold his house and decided to split the proceeds with her kids and grandkids. I actually got most of my part in advance two years ago when I bought my house, but it turns out there was still some left over, which she gave me over Thanksgiving break. Cut to, I now have a new sewing machine, craft/cutting table, floor lamp, and rivet/grommet press on the way! And I completely cleaned out my sewing room on Sunday, and Josh painted it for me yesterday and today. I also got a peg board that I'm going to paint and mount. So, in the next couple of days, I'm going to have pretty much a whole new sewing room!
I just paid off my car and both loans I had through my bank. I officially have no debt (despite student loans). I have one credit card open, but so far I've done very well with only using it and staying within an amount I can pay off monthly.
But, again, I officially have no car payment. I'm thrilled right now.

Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
I bought a laptop today. I haven't had a working one in over a year. It's so nice to not use my phone for everything now. I also went down a size in pants and shirts when shopping today.

Grats on the weight loss so soon after thanksgiving!
My mom just got home from the hospital for her second hip replacement since July. Yesterday she looked a lot better then last operation and the amount of pain she is in has really gone down.
I finally got the money from selling my moms house! It only took like 3 weeks from the closing date due to mix ups with the check but it's in my bank account now and a crap ton of stress is off my shoulders.

So does that mean you're now at a point where you never have to speak to your brother again?

I'm on PTO until January 4th AND I got to leave work three hours early. I used the extra free time to take my dog on a long walk on a nice trail by house. It's hard to tell which one of us enjoyed it more.

A couple years ago my friend lost her premature baby boy and has had a very hard time dealing with it (100% understandably), well she just sent out Christmas cards with photos of her brand new baby girl who was born last month. She didn't let anyone know she was pregnant again! I am crying. I just wish she hadn't moved so far away so I could hug her and squeal with joy!

I started my new job last week after 2 months of being laid off (with severance). Seems to be great so far! It is all office based, so no driving around to see patients all day long. It is also a complete work in progress that I am developing myself, with little guidance from anyone. Unfortunately the two managers who got the position approved were also laid off.
The official title is "Behavioral Health Nurse Consultant". Since they eliminated the behavioral health program for our home care, I have now become the go to person for any staff member who may need referrals for a patient, or guidance on how to work with a difficult patient, or education on a mental health disorder. I am also doing nurse triage work in the meantime, to fill the void. The days go by fast, and we have a gym onsite and yoga onsite, so I've worked out 3-4 days over lunch each week. The pay is the same, less driving, management-ish position. I'm a little worried about my abilities to "develop" my role into one that is valuable to this agency, especially since they are tearing down and rebuilding.
So, life is good. Hope you are all having many holiday "Yays"! Miss you all.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

That sounds like a really awesome job - and similar to something I might want to do in the future! Hope it keeps going well for you
