1) I just discovered this thread, and I love it.
2) I felt my incoming daughter move this weekend for the first time. She’d been kicking up a storm my wife could feel for a while, but this was the first time I could feel it from the outside. Not going to lie - it got a little Niagara Falls up in here.
Do you want to dance while also thinking about all the ways you've failed as a human?

That's amazing <3 Be sure to get videos of it when she really gets going and you can see the movement! Very cool to look back on
Today my oldest ran in his first collegiate cross country meet of the season on a team from a powerhouse D1 University that was cut 10 months ago in order to drastically cut two women’s programs because they “needed” to make more roster spots for the football team, because you know 124 spots wasn’t enough. I spent 168 days fighting with all I had to get them reinstated, working 40-60 hours a week, every week, on top of my 50-70 hour a week real job. I didn’t sleep, I didn’t do anything fun, my me stuff. I learned too much that changes my views of not only my university but the system as a whole. I just about had another mental breakdown. But I did it. And today this mom’s heart is happy.
just got back from a great bike ride around minneapolis with the fair going on and the u getting back in session. so thankful for my friends and everyone around me. anxiety and depression has been absolutely brutal but with them i've been able to move forward with life. putting in my 2 weeks at work and will able to come back whenever i want to help out. going back to school in the spring!!! after a couple weddings ill be pissing off to europe for an extended period to explore, meet up with a couple friends, make new ones and see tons of music.
So like 10 days ago, our 7,5 year old rabbit passed away from an attack on his back. While we are still a bit mourning over him, this morning we got a new baby (he's 7 weeks old) bunny. He's still getting to know us and is still a bit anxious but we're already over the moon with him.

I will hopefully be gettin’ 10-20+ unreleased songs from a pretty small band that I have loved since I was introduced to them ‘round ‘99/‘00. They only had one major label album, and shortly after it was released the label collapsed. They recorded songs fer an EP and/or second album that never saw the light of day. Then reunited in maybs ‘03/‘04 fer some two years and recorded a few more tunes, some of which were on MySpace and SoundCloud, but not available fer download. The lead singer committed suicide a while back, so there will never be more music or shows.
But a dude I’ve kinda known through the Internet since 2002, and was always really close to the band, will allegedly send me these tunes finally. Some are supposed to be pretty great studio recordin’s and some might be rough demos. But as long as he doesn’t flake out I will be over the moon!
This makes havin’ to do inventory at work over the weekend slightly more tolerable.

Just booked an appointment for next Saturday to get new tattoos on the back of my arms!! So excited.
whatcha gonna get
I am getting a King and Queen crown on each arm, right above the elbow. The crown's are going to be matching so you can tell they are a pair and have fleur de lis' in them. I sent my friend Chris the basic idea and asked him to make them pretty/better. The reference is my dad and I were king and queen of a Mardi Gras parade krewe in 2008 together and that I got married in 2019. So it's a two for one homage tattoo!

Stoked for ya. Had a design I wanted with a guy in AZ but then COVID and I moved. Really fun to get a good design done. Those sound cool, post pics (maybe in the private forum) when they're done!

Jules, like the French writer. He likes running, sneaking through small gaps (smh the little criminal), eating (especially chicory, we've noticed) and ofcourse.. napping.

what band?
They were a band called Hot Sauce Johnson.
And I'm still waitin' on him to send me the songs.
Tuesday I got free tickets to see St. Vincent that night, and at the show ran into a friend of mine I haven't seen in three or four years so we grabbed a drink and caught up after the show.
Wednesday a friend I haven't seen in over a decade happened to be in town for work and we went out with a friend of his for a night of drinks and dancing (and on his company card!).
Friday our store had our best sales day since opening and everyone was in a good mood. After work I went for a 7.5 mile run, my longest since 2019. Later that evening I stayed up til 5 in the morning pillow talking with the person I'm talking to at the moment, which I haven't done in God knows how long. It was very sweet.
Yesterday I very unexpectedly got to hang out with my dog for the first time since my ex and I moved out. Her and I hadn't spoken since going our separate ways but her parents posted on FB about dog-sitting at her place for the weekend, and I felt like that was a good opportunity to break the ice and that she'd be less likely to say no to me visiting with him if she wasn't there. She was not only fine with it but also said that if it didn't work out that I could see him some other time. I've been wanting to reach out for a couple weeks now about seeing him but frankly have been too terrified that she'd say that she didn't want me seeing him that I haven't had the courage to do it. So that stress is now no longer hanging over my head either.
After visiting with the pup and her parents I drove to Maryland to meet up with Rummy & Friends to see Charli XCX and it was absolutely fantastic.
Today a friend that I haven't seen in about five years came over and we went out for sushi and watched most of Squid Game.
Since living on my own the area that's been lacking the most is my social life - social stuff tends to wear me out so it's really easy for me to avoid, but the end result of that generally ends with me getting lonely and not having much of a life. So I've really been trying to just say yes to things more - and it's kinda crazy to me how many opportunities I got to do just that with random people from my life suddenly popping up this week. Who knew that loneliness would be the thing to catapult me out of my social anxiety? I don't even feel particularly peopled out at the moment, which is odd but I'll take it. I have a couple long work weeks ahead of me but I actually feel like I have gas in the tank for once. It's nice.
