thank you! it did! i get an "official" interview in a couple weeks. its a job back home in my hometown so I'm really hoping it comes through. the pandemic and being home has really led to a change in perspective for the wife and I, and we decided we'd rather emphasize proximity to family (my folks, in this case) over "ideal" job, but this one checks both boxes so fingers crossed.
Officially got a job offer today. Going back to Memphis to work at St. Jude as a research scientist!
First order of business, I'm probably gonna miss that phish show in AZ 3post1jack1, guess I better hope for some ATL or Nashville tix.
Second order of business...I gotta prep for a cross country move in the next 6ish weeks. Eek.

Second interview went great and I got offered the job! Now just to make sure my paperwork goes through and pass my piss test sometime next week.
The last time I got to physically hug my mom was Christmas time 2019. We were planning a big family trip for summer of 2020 and was waiting to see each other then. Obviously you know what happened next.
We've Zoomed every week since then. She would send me FED EX packages of paperwork she needed help with. The worst was when I'd have to go home for something and see her through a glass door.. She retired during all this and now there's talk of her moving closer to here. I love my mom and miss her every second of every day.
I get to hug her today for the first time in almost a year and a half and I don't know how to comprehend it. It doesn't feel real right now. I'm taking this as a YAY but I bet my wife she tells me "You've gained some weight" in the first 10 minutes.

I got sit in a pipeline meeting today on behalf of my boss who was busy.
This pipeline meeting was basically the heads of all the different production companies that sit under our parent company talking about all the tours and events they’re finalizing, pitching, planning etc. it was an “here’s all the entertainment coming to Australia for the next 5 years” meeting. Or as I’m affectionately calling it, the scoopz meeting

I think it's more like, a No Disclosure Agreement, they're banned from Australia. Which is a shame, they're pretty good and I think would go over quite well in Brisbane
I had the most amazing 48 hours. I went to a surprise birthday party for a wonderful friend, which was fantastic. I also got to hang out with some amazing peeps that I had no idea would even be there.
Just announced today that my favorite rugby team will be playin’ in DC near the end of October! It’ll be way cheaper to head back there than to fly all the way to New Zealand to catch the New Zealand All Blacks! I’m just hopin’ tickets aren’t crazy expensive, ‘cause I’ve wanted to see them fer over 20 years! This announcement makes my super shitty day at work so much better.
