It's not finalized as to what county but it looks almost certain that I will be working in a public defenders office this summer, possibly even in the trial division. Absolutely pumped to go in and do some good work early into my career. I should even get a stipend at the end of the summer so I don't go completely bankrupt.

I have some truly lovely people in my life and for that I am oh so grateful and also humbled. Had the pleasure of hanging out with around 30 different friends and family this weekend at various little celebrations that included dancing and dining and roller skating. Went swimming and sauna-ing and steam room-ing. Received tickets to go see The Postal Service/DCFC at MSG from LR. And SFA sent me an absolutely mind-blowing extended set of DND dice cut from various gem stones plus accoutrements. Kendrick Lamar albums, succulents, a Tarot reading, free drinks from the lady bartender that I have a crush on at the punk bar and sweet birthday wishes. Big time Yay!
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Been accumulating lots of little wins lately and it’s been doing worlds of good for my self confidence and mental health. Stuff like getting one of my biggest OCD topics under control (work errors), actually getting matches and dates from online dating (didn’t even think this was possible tbh), and getting more organized and clean in my personal life (room, budget, etc). Good stuff is adding up and on Wednesday I have an opportunity to get a big win by passing the 8th and final exam in my professional certification series which should give me a big career boost. Kinda starting to feel optimistic again for the first time in a while, and that’s motivating me to make even bigger progress in areas I’ve long needed to address.

Just got the first offer on the house I put on the market last week. Cons: 20% below asking price Pros: Cash buyer willing to buy as-is, which is nice considering the house needs some work and I've been hanging onto it for way too long (thinking I'll have time and energy to finish it). I'll still walk away with some cash. I won't have a house 45 minutes from home to worry about anymore.
Waiting for my agent to call now. I don't like to leave money on the table but this might not be the time to be greedy. You know what they say, a dollar in the hand is better than two bushy birds, or whatever. It's a lowball but I think I'm inclined to accept the offer and cross a headache off my list.
I quit my job after it became super toxic in the last year or so and my attempts to fix it were unsuccessful.
Started my new job last week and already feel like SUCH a massive weight has been lifted from me.
It's a little scary leaving my employer of 14 years, but it was beyond time to do so.
It's fucking amazing going to work every morning and not absolutely dreading it. You don't realize how truly toxic something is until you remove it from your life. Highly suggest it.

Totally feel you on this! I switched jobs last month and my mental health has skyrocketed.

Thanks! One plus of working at a university. Looking forward to the extra time.

It's my wife's last day at her current job, which has been a stressful environment for her and where she's been severely underpaid for the last two years. Better yet, she's on a 9-month contract so she gets paid out over the summer. She's going full-time into private practice, and I'm so happy for and proud of her. I'm taking her out to her favorite restaurant (http://www.morcillapittsburgh.com/) tonight, and then we're going to the woods for three days with no work! YAY!

Gonna brag on my kiddos for a bit. My oldest (that a few of you all met at brunch a couple times) got his tattoo apprenticeship! Dude is hella talented so I'm really looking forward to him putting his art out into the world.
Middle kiddo just graduated high school and is continuing to kick cancer's ass, just finished up year two of treatment and has been maintaining. And my youngest got into the health science academy for high school! I helped make some pretty cool humans if I do say so myself!

Finally sold my old house, signed the closing docs yesterday. I held onto it for a couple years after moving because I was trying to get a bunch of renovations done to maximize my return, thought about turning it into a rental, and the mortgage payment was very low. This could almost go in the GRRRRRR thread because I ended up accepting a low cash offer and didn't get much out of it. But it was a quick close, no inspections or further repairs to be done, and having this one big headache off my plate will be worth it. I just don't have the time or energy to do any more work there and it's 45 minutes from home, so I'm happy-ish.
