Accepted a position with the state yesterday and put in my two weeks today.
My boss called me and was the most supportive human. When I told him where I was going and what I’d be doing he was so happy for me. He said “I’m so sad for us but so happy for you. You get to use all that kitchen experience and get state benefits. Congratulations!”
I might’ve hated the job, but the people I work with are really wonderful. Wish I could take them with me.
I forgot my phone at Winn Dixie. Unpacked and had to roll back. They had it at the self checkout desk. So that was good. Interrupting to say Going to California just came on at the house I’m cooking at so yay 2. Yay 3 is I got on the scale and lost 10 more pounds since Bonnaroo. Weird is that I haven’t lost more inches like I did with the first 10. I’m accidentally back to junior in high school weight which I haven’t seen since I did a temporary vegetarian and wine diet in 2006. Milk and reduced portions or no meat is hit. I’m kind of in disbelief since I was only looking to cut extra saturated fats out my diet so I didn’t have to take medicine. 163.2. I’ll take that any day.

Last week, while I was away at a music festival, Mrs. GL texted me and let me know she bought a camper trailer. She's wanted one for years and I was happy she finally got what she wanted and in a budget she outlined.
We took the SUV to get it fitted with a hitch so we could tow it to where it'll live and come to find out we couldn't do it. There was no aftermarket that could be fitted on it that would tow the camper. My wife was gutted thinking she wasn't going to have one after all.
I've been scrambling all week behind her back trying to find a car that could
A) Fit our growing family B) Have towing capabilities
and I found her dream car that had both of the boxes I need checked off.
I drove it this morning and bought very shortly afterward. Today is literally Christmas for her and I'm glad I could surprise her.

After a fun Halloween seeing Tool last night again, I woke up this morning with a job offer in the mailbox. Fuck. Yeah. Working through a counter offer on some minor details but super pumped. And they fully met my salary request when I told them their range was too low.
Shoving a big middle finger at my previous employer. I know my value, fucking greedy-ass millionaires. PAY ME BITCH.

Hit that sweet spot when my electric bill is at its lowest because we hardly used the AC at all last month and the gas bill hasn’t gone up because we haven’t had to turn the heat on yet either. It’s actually very cold in here today, but it’s supposed to be warmer the rest of the week, so maybe we can hold on to this moment a little longer.
