I'm so close I can not only see the light, I can smell it too. Pulled an all-nighter last night finishing up my professional portfolio for my senior seminar - all I have left now are three one-page essays for my documentary class and a group presentation on Roger & Me, and this time tomorrow I will be done with college! It's a big YAY, but also an "oh, holy crap... hi, real world" moment too.
Garageland - congrats on acing your final! What did you end up making? Must've been amazing to do that well on it.
I think I may have a job! I've only been looking since I was laid off last August. I may be working in the office and doing bookkeeping for the Utilities/Town Hall of my tiny little town.
On an extremely hilarious note, our Clerk Treasurer also told me that she needs a Deputy Clerk Treasurer for 5 hours a week. She wants me to apply for that job too so I can run for the office and take her place when she retires next election cycle.
Got the last major piece of the Bonnaroo puzzle taken care of today, and now my Roo pile is practically complete; all I still need are some very minor things like snacks, beer, Gatorade, etc. and I'm all set for a weekend at Bonnaroo. Two weeks from now I will be on the farm, somewhere in the middle of the awesome string of shows that is !!!/Bootsy > Black Keys > Buffallo Springfield > Eminem > Dr. John > Gogol Bordello, and just loving life in general... YAY!
We get to go to Bonnaroo because a super awesome, totally amazing inforooster gifted us some tickets and two others are letting us bum a ride

Oh my God, that is awesome!!! I'm so happy for you. It's things like this that really make me love the community spirit of this board - you don't find many other corners of the Internet where people do stuff like that for other people. Big yay for you, Jenkazoo, and especially for the anonymous benefactor - you rock, whoever you are!

And YAAAY! For FINALLY getting an internal transfer to a job that I actually LIKE! Even though (only on paper) they had to give me a TWO level promotion to LATERAL over to the new position...the pay did NOT increase. Wonder how they sold THAT to HR?? But anyways I am actually kinda liking what I do again! YAAAY! ;D
