We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
NBF, if you learn how to crochet, you're gonna have to share your secrets with me. I've been trying to teach myself for 2 years (via a "crocheting for dummies" book) and I still can't get it.

So I had some good news at work today. Turns out I had 80 hours of vacation time, not 40. I thought I burned them all up for 'Roo, but turns out I got a full week still.
Oh what to do?
That and I get a 50 cent per hour raise on the first check in October.

Not a good start. So far, I can make a line of chain stitches, but then I start getting really confused.
My Yay for today: I was supposed to have a memo done on Friday, and I'm so not finished with it yet, but my supervisor called in sick Friday and today, so he doesn't have to find out what a slacker I am.

Me too! That's where I get stuck, trying to "turn" the stitch.

Yeah, my friend who loaned me her books keeps telling me that it is super-easy, but mine just looks like a jumbled mess when I try to start a second line.

I have decided that I will master the art of crocheting this winter!
I tend to read a lot during the winter since I'm a bit of a hermit when it's cold out, but I've decided I should attempt to do something crafty instead. I have all of the crochet tools/materials, so it's time I get this down!
NBF, when I get down turning, I will let you in on how to do it! (notice I said "when" and not "if". Positive words here!)

1) Moogfest tickets bought! 2) I will officially have one day of vacation when Moogfest comes around, so that's less time I have to work over to make up for. 3) I got to buy a $110 coat today for work with work footing the bill.
