So my work screwed up. Turns out I was only supposed to get 53.5 hours of paid vacation time this year.

I used 75.

I was at 50 right before Moog. So I went away to an awesome fest and got paid time off that I didn't actually have. Say yes to an unexpected extra 250 bucks.

And starting Feb. 1st, I'll have 120 hours between vacation and floating holidays. Bonnaroo, secondary Nashville trip, Moog, and skipping out on all Sunday mandatory overtime... hell yes.

Hmmm, it doesn't look like a ton of stuff is going on music-wise Sunday or Monday. I always loved the Variety in Little 5 Points (not downtown, but you can get there by MARTA if you don't have other transportation), but nothing is on their calendar for those days. I don't know who The Kernal is, but they are at Smith's Olde Bar (Monday, I think), which is a pretty cool little place. It's also not downtown, but theoretically could be accessible without a car depending on where exactly your hotel is (there are a lot of Peachtrees in Atlanta) and how far you are willing to walk.

The Vortex in Midtown makes a pretty good hamburger and has a little comedy club in the back.

Also, without knowing what your transportation situation is, I'd say that if you have the chance at all to go to Fat Matt's Rib Shack, I'd highly recommend doing so. By far the best ribs I've ever had. They do live blues every night, but we always went during the day, so I don't know about any of the folks who play there. You would definitely need a car or cab or something to get there, though, as it's not particularly close to any of the MARTA stations.
