I like Myspace - just because facebook confuses me and I don't have the time to sit down and figure it out - plus - all the apps make me mad because it seems like - to look at anything that anyone has sent you - you have to ivite all of your friends to look at the same app.
I logged on the other day and had 153 notifications and you have to go through them one by one

I hate myspace it's so hard to navigate and I really hate it when people have like 9273458923759873 things on their profile and their profile is HOT PINK and NEON ORANGE and really hard to read and makes my computer crash
used to have both, now i only use facebook.... i like how it's really clean looking, and you dont have random people trying to add you. It's a lot easier to keep in touch with people cause theyre not all lobbed into one group of general "friends" and you can find people by their real names.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**

Unfortunately there are those few people whose profiles are filled with all sorts of random applications. Some are okay, but I saw someone's profile once that had to have at least 20 apps!!! Luckily you can "minimize" them if they annoy you.
I like facebook for keeping in touch with people from college/high school and more of my family members (cousins etc) prefer facebook over myspace.
As for myspace, I like that you can get creative with your profile, but I have to agree that I can't stand it when people have too much going on! I think that my favorite thing about it is the bulletins feature; I've added a lot of bands/venues as well as fashion resources (i'm a fashion major) and anything else that interests me and they often post events/info i may not hear of otherwise. I also love that you can search and listen to almost any band (but you don't have to sign up to do that!
I have both... I mostly use MySpace because I had that one first and it's what I'm used too. I have found all kinds of people on there and people have found me.... and I like making my page pretty. Every few months I occupy myself for a couple hours by redoing the whole thing but I'm not one of those people who junk it up with a bunch of crap...too much.
you can get there with the little website button under my avatar.

i check both daily but growing tired of myspace... i dig the bulletins for bands that are my friends though.. have found out about a few shows i wouldn't have been able to get tickets for (white stripes at a small bar in nashville) so i guess it's worth it... i have a new addiction now, thank you inforoo

Like Aly said, I'm used to MySpace, so I spend more time on it than Facebook. It's kind of a necessary evil, somehow. It usually makes me feel icky for some reason, though I suppose the benefits ("keeping in touch," knowing what people are up to, letting people know I'm alive even when I choose to be a hermit, learning a few things here & there about performers I like) outweigh the icky feelings (drama, shame, narcissism, neuroticism, regrettable blog posts, feeling like a cog in some giant world-domination corporate scheme). Maybe.
I keep hearing about people preferring Facebook, but I haven't come around to it that way yet. Though, just the other day, my mother informed me she's been using Facebook on a daily basis to keep up with her childhood friends.
I treasure Last.fm, though. It never leaves me with that bad aftertaste like MySpace. Probably because I don't have to "socialize;" all I have to do is listen to music. IMHO, that can sometimes reveal more than any mood/status update on MySpace. Not exactly the same kind of social-networking thingy, but I find myself enjoying spending time on it every day.

i like facebook because it's a cleaner layout, and i like "poking" my friends... it's kind of ironic though because at first i hated facebook because i couldn't really customize it... it also seems more private since you don't have to choose to make your profile private, people only see you if you let them.. i guess facebook seems more personal
i have a last.fm account too, and i agree with magnolia, it beats myspace and facebook, hands down
1. It's easy to find and add real people! Everyone is listed by their first and last name.
2. You can search for people based on your networks. School, work, and location and it's really easy. If you want to find friends you went to high school with, you just click on the year in your profile and it will list everyone you graduation with.
3. It's clean and simple. You don't have to add a million "applications" (even though some of them are pretty cool). You can pick and chose what you want to be able to see on your profile and others profiles. If you go to someones profile and there is an application you dont want to see, you can just minimize it and you wont see it.
4. Very little advertisement
5. Tagging pictures! I love that feature. You are connected to all your friends and their pictures of you are automatically in your profile. If you don't like one of the picture's you can just untag it.
6. Status. You can update it at any point and let everyone know what you're doing at that moment.
7. Privacy. Everything on facebook can be set to private on an individual bases and to individual networks. That means you can decide to let some of your friends see your pics and not your coworkers, let specific people see your contact information, and stuff like that..
those are just some of the things i really like about it
i have both. got my myspace like 5 yrs. ago. before i got friend requests every other minute from porn stars and amature rappers. it got too creepy.
so, i switched to facebook. which was really cool until they opened it up to general public and let middle schoolers on. and even that was ok with me. what really makes me mad is all the apps. for people to have a few is ok, but i have friends that have like 60 and i get requests every other day to play oregon trail or i get bitten by a zombie. and its just stupid. and annoying. and when they added the mini feed and news feed stuff that was just creepy. so, i gues its just as creepy as myspace.
so now, i've switched back to myspace and use that more. haha
the one thing i REALLY dont like about myspace though, is the possibility of getting a virus or something through all the spam that is on there.
when I first signed up for MySpace I got 'lucky" and was one of the 'cool new people' on the home page... I was fending off 50 year old creepy guys for at least a week...
Didja know they have an equivalent for the over-50 set? eons.com
My mom is on it ???
I have both; and both have pros and cons. I have found more people from the past on MySpace though and find as an older person Facebook isn't as good for networking (don't have a high school or college email address and my jobs aren't listed as possible networks because not big enough).
I have made my MySpace mainly to interact with my blog readers and network in the wide wide world of blogging. Yeah, I am a blogging freak. ;D

Ok - here is my problem - if I use my married name - then people that I knew in high school cannot find me and if I use my maiden name - then people I know now cannot find me
you can now tag your pics on myspace you can update your status
Oh yeah - Myspace has started with the status thing and a news feed of sorts that lets youknow when someone has changed something or added pictures
