Aww hugs for your girlie!! My best friend had them over Xmas and has still not passed one of them so I know what kind of pain you have been in. Hope you feel better soon
Oh Becca - I am sooooo sorry - I had kidney stones about a year ago - and I know the pain you are feeling - I found that if I laid on my back but kinda leaning on one side with a heating pad - it really helped - other then that - I stayed doped up on mepergan for about 4 days

I've never had kidney stones, but I did become aquainted with morphine and dilaudid last September when a lawnmower I was pouring gas into caught fire and gave me 1st and 2nd degree burns on my left arm, neck, and face. I was pretty impressed with the dilaudid, the morphine, not so much.
This might make you cheer up a little bit though...
Last night I randomly had a dream and you were in it! I went to some talent show or something and you won! And the prize was a part in "MUPPETS ON SKATES", and you got to roller skate with the muppets and sing and dance on their tour
I know that feeling well. For about a year and a half I got multple stones a month. Sometimes one in each kidney sometimes two in one. After about a year they fell off to every two months so on and so forth. 3 Hospitals, 4 urologists, 2 kidney specialists and my usual doctor could not figure out why.
Best things to do to help them. Depending on the size of them. Most of mine were small enough I would pass them. Once they get large they have to break them up and then you pass a lot of small ones.
Cranberry Juice, not the stuff mixed with apple but the straight stuff. Lots of water, not gatorade just water. No Milk, ice cream or green leafy veggies. Stay away from Coke\Pepsi and anything with large amounts of Caffeine. A heating pad will help a lot but you have to drink water. Dehydrating will make it hurt worse when it moves so keep drinking water. I was told to stay away from Tylenol. I was also told I could have beer. Not with the pain meds mind you but I could have it. Don't drink too many, passing a stone while drunk makes you bleed more. (There could be some blood after you pass it.)
thanks guys and thanks funk - i know to drink plenty of fluids and cranberry...im so scared for this to happen again still pretty out of it..
Once it's passed out of the kidney you'll have a bit of soreness. They should of given you an anti-inflammatory to help with it. Depending on the size of the stone and where it's at will make things worse. I know the feeling though. I'm just glad it didn't block the tube from the kidney to the bladder. That hurts like no other. Take it easy watch some TV and try to relax.
Another tidbit. People tend to get kidney stones on the side they sleep on. If you sleep on your left side you tend to get stones in the left kidney.
Also there is a "stone-belt" Where more people get stones. They think it has something to do with the water hardness or something along those lines. It's been two years without them so I consider myself lucky.
Once you get kidney stones it's easier to get them again. Good news is you will get used to the pain. The last few I had I didn't even take pain meds. I passed them and put them in a jar and sent them to the doctor.
Hope you feel better soon. I fired out one of those babies once, I feel your pain. For a guy it can be like plugging the end of the shotgun and pulling the trigger, Ouch! Keep drinking the cranberry Juice, that cured it for me.
