1) System of a Down @ Summer Sanitarium Tour '00 (Atlanta, Ga)-I really can't stand the lead singers voice and at that time I was not a fan at all. They were the openers for the rest of the day and I just couldn't get into it. Since that concert I have come to appreciate them a little more, but still wouldn't go see a concert. 2) Sting and Annie Lennox @ Philips Arena '04-I really was looking forward to this show, but got let down pretty bad. There was a 24 minute version of "Roxanne" that I did enjoy. 3) Don Henley and Stevie Nicks @ Gwinette Arena '05-When the man next to you gets mad because you are enjoying the show, and your not even being rowdy, you know that you are in a baby boomer concert. Another good give away is when the beer vendor tells you that you are the first one she has card tonight because you are the youngest looking one. 4) OAR at the Masquerade Music Park '05-Was a free ticket so I thought what the heck. The openers, Pepper, was a much better band. This is one of the concerts that I felt that I was definately the oldest, and it kinda made me sad. 5)Molly Hatchet at some biker ralley like above-The best part of the whole ordeal was watching the crazy bikers raising hell.
Close your eyes. Picture a convict. What's he wearing? Nothing special, baseball cap on backwards, baggy pants... he says something ordinary like... 'yo, thats shizzle.' Okay. Now slowly open your eyes again. Who are you picturing? A black man? Wrong. That was a white woman. Surprised? Well, shame on you.
1. Seether - I was very mad at my friend for convincing me that "their live show will make you a fan". Nope, didn't happen
2. 3 Doors Down and Nickelback - I was 14, so if a concert was out of town my dad drove me. He wanted to see Nickelback, I went to keep him company
3.System of a Down - most disappointing live show ever
4. Eminem - Some rappers have good live shows, Eminem doesn't. Video and elaborate sets couldn't save this snooze fest
5. Radiohead Roo 2006 - I was back in the bleachers and I guess disconnected from everything. I was excited to hear There There, but then things got boring to me. I like Creep and some songs off Hail to the Thief, I guess Radiohead just isn't for me.

1. Godsmack-DTE Energy Music Theater. Incredibly boring. Rob Zombie opened and put on an amazing show and during the entire Godsmack performance people were chanting Zombie.
2. Blink-182-Palace of Auburn Hills. My first concert ever. Saves The Day and Green Day played first and they were both amazing but Blink was just horrible. I think they maybe played 8 songs and just told jokes the rest of the time.
3. Wynonna Judd-Freedom Hill Ampitheater. 'nuff said
4. Kaiser Cheifs, Weezer, Foo Fighters-Joe Louis Arena. Foo Fighters were awesome. I fell asleep during Kaiser Cheifs and during Weezer.
5. Eric Clapton-Palace of Auburn Hills. First off, this show got postponed from September of '06 to April of '07, so I was kinda expecting something awesome to make up for it. But I left dissapointed. And I actually fell asleep through his set too.
1. gangStarr--opening for RATM in Phoenix 1996. They were awful. Hip Hop sucks live but bad hip hop with a bad soundsystem??? Unbearable. RATM then came out and rocked the shit out of everyone. Maynard even came out and did "Know your Enemy"
2. (3) Shitty Bands that opened for Velvet Revolver in Austin 2004. I thought VR was having one opening band not 3. all 3 were horrible!!! Three and a half hours after i get there VR finally starts and ripped it up. But come on promoter tell us how bands are opening before the show starts. 3. WSP Bonnaroo 2003. I love southern rock, jambands, etc. But these guys blow. After seeing ABB play amazing set having to watch these guys was torture. Stuck around for 8 seconds. My friend and i let a gorgeous girl and her brother take out spot on the rail and split. Gorgeous girl if you see this hit me up!!!!
1. gangStarr--opening for RATM in Phoenix 1996. They were awful. Hip Hop sucks live but bad hip hop with a bad soundsystem??? Unbearable. RATM then came out and rocked the nuts out of everyone. Maynard even came out and did "Know your Enemy"
Funny you mention this, I saw RATM in '96 and luckily GangStarr did NOT open for them, it was acouple bands one called Stanford Prison Experiment or something?? BUT in '99 GS opened for Rage after At The Drive In and like you said it was like the Sh&&iest sound ever.. Their cds are ok, I like some of it, but like it blew. You gotyourself some karma for just living through the same ear rape I did.
side note- At the '96 Cobo Detroit show Zack stage dived into the audience like twice. i havent seen him do that in ages!
The Dwarves - Vaudville Cabaret - Tucson - 2006 - Good band, Too loud for the venue. I had to listen from the patio and miss the dwarves' kick-ass stage presence. Mondo Generator opened and sounded much better.
The Dwarves....as in The Dwarves are Young and Good Looking? I saw them once...they walked out played literally 15 seconds....threw a pizza at the crowd....and left....it was awesome.
kiss - 06? - honestly, i went to see poison (since they opened) - im sure kiss was amazing in 1977, but it's 30 years later, and i felt bad for them. they were just going through the motions. slowly.
Mariah Carey - Live8 London - it's fucking mariah carey...true to form, she was an obnoxious diva. on an odd note, randy jackson was on the keyboard.

They Might Be Giants at 9:30 Club in 2007 (I think) - they're one of my favorite bands, I've seen them around 1/2 dozen times and have always loved their shows. This one was just low energy, all random, obscure - and not good - songs. At one point, John said "and here's another song you won't know!" And I didn't care. I was so sad.
John Mayer at Nissan Pavillion in 2006 (again, I think). SOOOOO boring, just a lot of him jamming - and sure, he's a good and all, but it's too big a venue for that. I went to the bathroom at one point and just hung out at a picnic table to delay having to go back to my seat.
Cold War Kids at Bonnaroo 2007. Another boring show, I should have stayed at camp.
Megadeth somewhere in Baltimore in 1993. Meh. Although STP opened for them and they were awesome and I barely knew who there were at the time.
Madonna at Verizon Center in 2005 (I think). Just didn't live up to expectations - or the $95 I spent on my nosebleed tickets. But hey - when my grandkids ask, I can say that yes, I saw Madonna live.

the mars volta - opened for RHCP last year. saw them twice...both times were equally terrible, so at least they are consistant..
I AGREE. I really was a big fanof At the Drive In and was lucky enough to witness them live so I recently gave Mars Volta a chance at their show in Ann Arbor this past January. Probably THE most boring show I have ever been to. Their jams are sloppy and go nowhere, His moves are amateur Iggy pop AT BEST, not even. We left after an hour, I think they played for 3?? It was coined "an evening with Mars Volta". Wish I kept my receipt for that $hit.
Ditto TMBG at 9:30 with dcbee... really disappointing.
Sting in... 92? Merriweather Post Pavilion and it was sooo boring people in the pavilion seats got up and left. He sat on a stool and I don't think moved once.
Ben Kweller at Sonar in Baltimore. Boring. Like so boring that by time Gomez came on stage I was asleep standing up. It felt like a karaoke night and the crappy crowd didn't help much.
Cinderella opened for Poison last year and it was such a sad scene. The lead singer's voice was completely shot and at one point he collapsed on stage from exerting too much energy or whathaveyou. OMG, it was awful. Free ticket... but sad. Poison was fun to see, but Cinderella ruined my middle school memories...
Probably more but I have shut them from my mind...

Wasn't that kind of his thing all along...his voice was always terrible...I still love that song "Shelter Me" though...ahhh hair metal...not enough of that at Roo ya know...

Yeah he always sounded bad, but this sounded like someone who just finished a stint in ICU with an intubator.

I would say steppenwolf/Loverboy @ Lampe,MOBlack Oak mountain ampitheatre in 1999. the security was being total pricks yelling @ everyone as we were parking. The sound was crap,(not eqd right, and either side of the the pa was going out @ any given time,my left eardrum was ruptured because of this, Then security was running down the aisles pushing people who were dancing in the aisles and yelling at them to stop during the encore of "Magic Carpet Ride/Born to be wild", I went because my friends mom got us free tix, but it was so awful we left before Loverboy played.
1. Faith No More in 1995 was hands down the worst musical performance I've ever seen. It has legendary status amongst my friends for being so awful. It was also the night some of my friends did something naughty, and spent the rest of the evening thinking they were on fire...and as a result, I decided never to partake (gasp!).
2. Iron Maiden (not sure on the year)- My best friend of 25 years is a metalhead, Maiden's his favorite band, I went with him, and against everything in my nature, didn't make fun of the show....I'm a good friend.
3. Arctic Monkeys 2006- I was a young man of about 27...and I was the oldest person in the room...the band...also all younger than me....seemed like an opening act more than a headliner.
4. Bob Dylan 2003- First...I get to this dump of an arena in Jersey...3 hours early...and sit in parking lot traffic all the way through the middle of Dylan's set...then the following week, I had tickets to see Bob in a club in NYC...the day of the black out....I'm sure the rescheduled show was great....but I had to work.
5. Foo Fighters 1996- Crowd surfing...dropped head first...crowd filled in...stuck upside down for three songs. Nuff said.
Well considering I worked an arena for a while, I separate these into the worst shows I've worked and the worst shows I've actually payed for.
WORKED
1. Motley Crue - What more needs to be said? 2. Hillary Duff - Little girls scream loud 3. G-Unit - Every song had like 10 gunshot sounds in it 4. The Game - See G-Unit 5. Van Halen (with Sammy Hagar) - EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWW
PAYED FOR 1. Smashing Pumpkins - I saw them headline the Summersault 2000 Festival in Winnipeg. I actually enjoy a fair bit of Smashing Pumpkins, but this set was terrible. They couldn't care less. 2. AFI - To this day I don't know why I saw AFI. Maybe it was the appeal of going to a concert with 2 girls when I was 16. 3. NIN - They're so damn lucky Death From Above 1979 and Queens of the Stone Age opened for them 4. Pennywise/Circle Jerks - This had nothing to do with the show itself (although it wasn't that good). This show sucked because security booted me because someone else threw a bottle and they thought it was me. 5. Amy Winehouse - I stopped by to see a bit of her performance at Coachella last year and had to leave after 5 minutes. She's nothing more than a drunken degenerate mess.

The Police - Bonnaroo 2007
They were on stage a total of 70 minutes - out of a 150 minute time slot.
Sting had his voice mixed over the PA system to be twice as loud as the music - presumably because his vocals are washed up and needed and electronic fix to hang...
Sting stopped after every song to talk about his new hair cut and give bands members high-fives.
His idea of a "good laugh" was to tell every interviewer in the world that he was going to strip on stage at Bonnaroo. Then halfway through the set (if you can call it that) he stopped ( like after every song ) and made everyone aware of his promise to strip before making everyone count down "3...2...1.." at which point he took off his shirt and gave everyone on stage another round of high-fives...
I liked Sting better with the herion addidction...

i didn't notice any of THAT^^^
but it was really lame, and i stayed up until Roxanne, then left, thinking hey, i'm leaving an hour early. 15 minutes later, the whole crowd came at us and i was oh nuts... we blew it
we sat down and had some corn the whole time, stood up to record roxanne on my digital camera, then left
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**

LMAO, karma. Heroin addiction by far has put out some great records ie Exile On Main Street, Nevermind, In Utero, Anything by Thin Lizzy, STP. If I sold a million albums I'd shoot up for fans.

haha, when leaving DMB at Deer Creek last year, they were handing out coupons for a FREE Poison w/ Rat tickets for an upcoming show... it was insane how many of those were just laying on the ground or in the trash can...
The Police - Bonnaroo 07 - I was just really disappointed The Nightwatchman - Bonnaroo 07 - needs to stick with electric guitars Faith No More - New Orleans 1992 - flopped around on stage and screamed Guns & Roses - New Orleans 1992 - just screamed and left the stage
