Was thinking about selling some stuff on ebay to try and round up some extra cash for this festival season. Wondering if we had anyone here on the board that had any experience in doing so? How easy/hard it is to do/setup? Would appreciated any insight on the matter. Thank you!
It's quite easy and the ebay seller's guide will walk you through setting up each auction. A couple of things you will need to consider -- are you looking to make a minimum amount for each item (reserve price) or are you willing to sell at any price? Are you willing to wait for an auction to run for 7 days, or do you want to offer buyers an opportunity to buy the item right away -- thus ending the auction immediately -- for a set price (buy it now)?
Some other considerations will be to decide what shipping methods you will offer (for example, USPS, UPS, etc.) and what form of payment you will accept (check, money order, PayPal).
I'd suggest poking around auctions for items which are similar to those you are trying to sell. You might pick up some buzz words that you can use in your titles and/or descriptions, and you can get a feel for realistic pricing.
- Put a picture in the gallery, it picks up more traffic. - Spell check. Seriously. - Choose your heading carefully, most buyers scroll down the list and only click on what getrs their attention.
very simple. the key is a gallery pic to draw people in. im 17 and have been sellin on ebay since i was 12 and its very easy to do but the gallery picture will get you a lot more traffic and it's 25 exttra cents or something. best of luck. there are a few websites that cater directly to ebay sellers and sell things at wholesale prices. you might wanna check that out unless you got a ton of stuff sittin around your house.
Be very truthful in your description of the items. Note any damage and such. I have given negative feed back to those sellers who mislead. If you say it's in great shape, it had better be. Hope that helps.
