Been munching chocolate covered coffee beans in the evening once I feel the day's coffee starting to crash on me. Not exactly healthy, but functional.
I need to get away from this coffee thing and back to a mason jar of tea with two teabags that stay steeping the whole time and a wad of honey. Even delivery without much of a crash.
i drink sweet tea, but the caffeine in that is negligible, and usually a glass with dinner, maybe before school. will increase with summer, i'm sure, because its soooo yummy
ever since my days with more... irresponsible stimulants, the crash from starbucks is unbearable and brings back bad thoughts. same with energy drinks, which are also EXTREMELY bad for you
Soft drinks - the only thing i drink for the caffeine, and only if i'm really tired at school, or have to give a speech. usually one every 2 weeks
beer - mmmm.... love me some newcastle, sammy smith oatmeal stout, Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA. 2 beers keeps me awake for a few hours, unless i'm really really tired. corn also keeps me awake for exactly 3 hours most of the time, then boom, i'm asleep
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
i buy a 2 liter of Mt. Dew nearly every morning, I drink coke at work usually because it is free, I sometimes drink coffee, but I prefer to at least slightly quench my thirst usually, coffee makes me thirsty, then I drink water, then more coffee, and then my freaking bladder explodes.

I very very rarely drink caffeine or any kind of soda, but if I need a little boost I will have a Mountain Dew (probably no more than once every few months).
I used to drink 4-5 a day but then I realized they were empty calories and also not good for my teeth so I switched to water only.

Coffee & other coffee-type drinks (espresso etc.), not necessarily for the caffeine boost, I just like a good cup of coffee sometimes. (same goes for tea, but less often)
For as long as I can remember, my parents have a morning ritual with coffee - they have a coffee machine that brews really well & really good Seven-11 coffee, so it's always delicious. They have the perfect cozy house that has a great sitting room/dining room that looks out into the back yard - they brew the coffee and then sit in the awesome gliders and watch the birds at the bird feeders. It's so simple, but it really is a great way of starting the day. Of course when I visit I share in this ritual; I think that's how it all started...man I miss home!
coffee and soda (mr.pibb or cherry cola of some sort) Even after working as a barista, I still don't drink coffee every morning though. I drink it when I need the boost to get through a long day or as a treat. I love me an iced irish cream latte. yum.
Brewing right now is my very first batch of Toddy coffee. I can't wait to try it in the morning. Anyone ever had a Toddy?
Anyone remember Jolt Cola? Twice the caffeine of other colas!
Probably still around but I haven't seen it in years. Used to drink it in the 80's.
I actually found it a few weekends ago at the Fondren Beverage Emporium here in Jackson - this store is like an old fashioned candy store - with all of the candy and drinks from the 80's as well as tons of imported candy from all over and more varieties of root beer then you can imagine
I can't stand this stuff, a girl that came to the Roo last year with me had it, but it just got put back onto the market. It was banned for a little while because they had false statements about the drink on their website and their slogan is "The Legal Alternative". Gov't thought that it was promoting drukq usage amongst its targeted users, young adults.
That stuff was disgusting. It supposedly has 6 times the amount of caffeine as a regular can of Red Bull. Made me cringe when I took a sip.

"I just got fragged by a non-working speak." 5 Roo's and counting
I am happy to say that I have kicked my caffeine addiction. It was very hard but well worth. Now there are times when I have to have it, and then it is coffee or tea.
I do like the sugar free Rockstar when necessity hits. I don't do them often, but I like the taste better than Red Bull and they don't tear up my stomach as much. But really, these are only if I go to work all day and then have an event that night and no time to nap.
Wow, that sure makes me sound old....
For Christmas the hubster and I got a French press and coffee grinder. Best gift EVER! Sunday mornings we have a ritual like squirrel's parents: we make our coffee and we sit on the front step or the back deck and enjoy nature for as long as the weather allows or our cup lasts. In cold weather we put on our coats and go on the front step and watch the dog prance around in the yard. Warmer days, we go to the deck and watch the birds and squirrels in the trees behind our house.
it's funny I used to HATE the taste and smell of coffee. I didn't get to the point of appreciation until a couple of years ago. Now, I like to come to work, get settled and then get myself a cup of coffee from the break room to enjoy while reading email (and Inforoo!). Coffee has such a lovely feeling of ritual to it...
