no, but i think one of my magazines had a recipe for one - doesn't if have liquor in it or something?
It's a way to brew coffee cold. You use a pound of coffee and let it sit in water for 12 hours. Then you drain it out and keep the resulting coffee concentrate (you get about 6 cups) in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. When you want a cup of coffee, you get the concentrate out, mix it with some water and microwave. It has almost no acid, so there's no bitter taste to the coffee at all. It's also good for people with sensitive stomachs. My first cup this morning was quite delicious. You can use it to make all sorts of stuff. I just made some chai and put a splash of the Toddy coffee in it. It's wonderful.
Coffee has such a lovely feeling of ritual to it...
there is no doubt about that! mornings i don't have coffee (too ill, hungover, what-have-you), something feels off for the remainder of the day.
i used to drink coffee several times a day, not so much for the caffeine, more for the taste. i was forced to cut back (even quit for awhile) cause of high blood pressure. but i still rely on that one/two cups in the AM.
the french press is def one of the greatest inventions

That's the main website, but they are cheaper on E-bay, where I ordered mine.
Ah, well I dug out the magazine it was in and there's is called a Hot Toddy - it's quite different from yours here's the recipe for anyone whose interested (haven't tried it myself)
Ingredients: 2 and 1/4 cups brown sugar 2 sticks salted butter 1 tsp ground nutmeg 1 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp ground cloves 1 tsp ground ginger Bacardi rum Hot cider
- Blend the batter ingredients (everything but rum & cider) in a food processor until creamy. Scoop the mixture into a plastic container, and refrigerate (it'll keep all winter). Fill a mug half-full of hot cider, add 2 generous tablespoons of batter and dissolve. Add 2 shots of rum and garnish with a cinnamon stick
I cut out soda a couple of years ago and now if I even drink a small coke I am buzzing. It hits me harder than coffee, probably because of the carbonation and sugar...
Thanks for the toddy instructions; will have to check that out!
I'll have plenty of coffee at Roo this year. I have thre percolators and was at a yard sale a couple months ago and a lady had a couple of the 12 cup pots that plug into your cigarette lighter. I got 2 for a buck a piece.
If we have a Bonaroo brunch again this year I will bring coffee. (and I'll try and stick around a while)
