i posted this a while ago in another forum but it didn't get much attention so i figured i'd try it out here. i really would like to hear what the cats on inforoo think about this so i hope you all check it out.
so basically what it is, is a 35 minute mix cd featuring 100 bands and artists. if you like Girl Talk's stuff i think you will like my mix cd as well. its not as technical or anything but it is basically the same idea of blending/remixing.

I haven't listened yet (guitar hero is going on behind me) BUT I think it is great that you used main stream stuff....draw in all audiences and besides, it shows true eccletic taste, something many people claim to have.
Hey, this is really awesome so far. Sorry it didn't get much attention in the other thread, but it deserves it! The fact that you can do this is awesome (wish I knew how). Anyway, I'm not finished yet, but i'll post back when I am!
Okay, I'm done. So good. Keep it up, for real. And let me know if you make something new!!
i'm glad you like it! i plan on posting anything i do on here from now on. but don't expect something too soon. that mix took me a really...really long time. thx again for listening. karma coming your way.

I thought this was gonna be pretty good just from looking through the artists appearing in it. Then I listened to it... And "pretty good" isn't really doing it justice man...
nope. i use ableton (really great if your into this kind of thing, and production altogether). another board member (anemone) uses it as well. what hes done is really sweet to. i think girl talk uses audio mulch. i'm not that sure though.
I thought it was great! Sat here and watched basketball today with the sound down and listened. How long did it take to make?
really i don't have a number of man hours i put into it but basically in between a 6 month period. there would be times i would take a week break from it and other times when i would work on it daily.
thx again for listening. i really appreciate the comments.

Another ableton user ;D i been trying to dj with it but i cant get my mbox 2 to give me the cue on the headphones, i could do it without headphones if i rehearse everything and warp everything by hand but whats the fun in that? do you have any idea how to get separate stereo outputs using a regular soundcard or the mbox if your familiar with it.
Additionally, my roommate was into it when he listened to it.
the more the merrier.

I was gonna say it was really good, until What is love came on... Just kidding, I saw Girl Talk 3 times last year, and I can definitely see the influence, The mix is pretty much flawless in its transitions and pretty chill to listen to. I will be keeping it in my library. Keep at it. karma.
On a side note, heres a clip on youtube of Girl Talk and how he creates his remixes, worth watching.

has anyone ever heard of Car Stereo Wars? I haven't listened to bonnafan's track yet, but i assume its about the same idea. anywho, another dj to check out that uses lots of different artists to make one track.
