I've always wanted to try absinthe and all this talk made me break down and order a bottle of Strong68 from Germany. For $121, that stuff had better kick my ass!!

A few of us had a bottle of Strong68 last night (friend's 21st birthday.. that's why we've had it lately
It really messed everyone up, just mixed with red bull. I love the stuff, it tastes great. Two of my friends who are both big guys, work out all the time, probably 6'1 225 pounds, drink every weekend.. were falling over and rolling around on the floor at 1am.. so it MUST be good!!
side note, erowid is the SH!T and i just opened a suntrust account and they're doing that thing where they'll give 100 to your favorite charity, and i'm giving mine to erowid...
We sell that same kit for about $32 dollars. all I can say is I sampled it with some friends who had been to Europe and had the real thing and they said it tasted and felt like the stuff they had before. It's definatly a strong drink. Those kits just steep wormwood and coloring/flavoring herbs in a 1/1 mix of Everclear and vodka. They also come w/ a spoon and glass.
and idioteque, what is they brand you got in MA? My wife's liquor store sells Lucid and Absente brands, but both are somehow filtered/modified to remove most of the Thujone to get it to acceptable FDA standards. I have heard rumor of real european Absinthe being sold in small amounts in some liquor stores, though, so I'm curious.
