my friend brett is the amtrekker of www.amtrekker.com. he left his home and his job last july with a list of 50 things that he needs to do before he can go home. it is one of the coolest things that i've ever heard of, and he is a really awesome, friendly guy. he makes a tiny bit of money from advertising, but for the most part, he lives off of the kindness of strangers. (one of his other rules is that he refuses to pay anything for lodging the entire trip...so he uses couchsurfing.com a lot) he has an awesome podcast and blog...you should check it out, it's really great!
anyway...i gave all this intro to tell you all that he is coming to atlanta tomorrow, to stay at my house with the intention to cross "make moonshine" off his list while he's in the southeast. how on earth are we supposed to find moonshiners? they don't exactly hire publicists. any tips would be amazingly helpful...and if you have any other tips or questions, feel free to email him via his website, or you can just tell me. thanks in advance!!
well i know you need to be a little bit out of atl and you need dry whole kernal corn and sugar and copper pot and tubing. and i will have to ask a friend to see if he has a recipe to give you....
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo

thanks boz...i was hoping that we could find someone that actually makes moonshine, but that might prove very difficult. does it actually have to be a copper pot?
Moonshiners don't like strangers, same as home growers and meth labs. Good luck finding one that will admit to it, much less let you anywhere near their still.

yeah, that's what we keep telling him, we don't think there's any way he's going to be able to find a moonshiner that will be open to letting him "help." he continuously surprises me, i must admit. he got to walk up the stairs of the empire state building (the stairwells are closed every day of the year except one.) he actually found a sloth to pet. he's a crazy guy, and very persistent.
i'm realizing how ludicrous it actually is for me to be asking all of you, because if any of you knew a moonshiner or made moonshine yourselves, you wouldn't tell it to someone on a webernet forum...
^^^Hey - he could prob cross off the Civil War Renactment in Raymond Mississippi - they do the Battle of Raymond every May - he is welcome to crash on our couch if he could get it set up

wow meg...that's so generous of you!!! i'll tell him about your offer....he will be very pleased! out of curiosity, do you know anyone that participates? he doesn't have the proper attire, so he would need to borrow it from someone. if not, he's pretty resourceful, and i bet he can find someone to borrow clothes from. karma when i can (i just gave it out) ;D

thanks guys...you are too awesome!! i am relieved to learn that he has someone lined up to help him with the moonshine (thankfully...i didn't want to have to try to make it myself) is it still illegal to make, btw? oh, and meg--he is interested...so just let me know any details that you find out. thanks inforoosters...you guys are the best ;D
After he leaves Mississippi he could make his way to Louisiana and we could help him out with two items on his list. 1.) Fan boat ride with gators and 2.) Help out on a plantation. I live in Baton Rouge, La. and we have a gator farm with a fan boat tour, we also have plantations everywhere down here so I'm sure we could find him somewhere to work. If he is interested let me know, I would be more than happy to help out.
