i have a new hero his name is noah he is an eight yr old child that is awesome he was my dogbite victim back in november i had court with the owner of the dog today noah is my hero cause he heard about a 4 yr old child that was mauled by his grandfather's rotty and pitbull over the weekend and it was very bad for the 4 yr old noah said that he wanted to go visit this younger child and try and help him in anyway he can to get over the attack noah still has nightmares about when he was atacked wakes up at night screaming "you can't hurt me anymore, cause my friend took you from here and put you down".. noah also wants to go to ms legislature to speak to them about his own attack and to ask them to pass a vicious dog law for the state of mississippi. he also at some point wants to speak to the press about it. in my personal opinion this child is wise beyond his yrs and is a very brave child it kills my soul something like this happens to any child noah came with in 1/16 of an inch from a major artery being severed in his leg and bleeding to death. he is still scared of large dogs and he is wanting to help a smaller child by letting him know everything is going to be ok. NOAH IS AN AWESOME KID...HE IS MY HERO
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo
I'm wondering... Is the state of Mississippi trying to pass a vicious dog BREED law? or just a vicious dog law?
I am a dog bite victim. In fact, I have been severely bitten, not once but twice... I was about 5 the first time and 8 the second time... I still have scars on my face to prove it.

that was so heartwarming to read about.. it is very sad that Mississippi has many vicious dogs, and that owners do not give them the proper care. Dog fighting is also a horrible crisis in Ms..
But noah is definitely one of my heros now.. I hope to someday have children with such compassion as him! ;D

the real issue is for parents assume responsibility by not allowing their children around the 'vicious' dogs. Society is hilarious.
I beg to differ. Sometimes it's the owner of the dog who should know better than to let their dog near a youngin'. More often than not dogs can look too cute to kill, but if you touch them the wrong way they'll snap. I really find it hard to blame solely on the parents of the dog bite victims in this case.
no the real issue is not that. i deal with agressive dogs every day.both kids in these 2 cases did nothing to provoke the dogs.and the majority of the agressive dog owners i deal with are younger folk that think it makes them a bad ass cause they have have a highly agressive dog . not realizing that if that dog injures or god forbid kills someone they can and in most cases will do jail time seems like a dumdass reason to get yourself lockup with rapist, killers and child molesters doesn't it i ask owners if they small kids what they would do if thier dog attacked thier child or baby and the same responce everytime "I WOULD KILL THE DOG" and i tell them the same thing right aftre you bury your child and get out of jail and or prison.... i have some friends that have pits and they are very sweet dogs but they have 2 simple rules if you are scared of dogs don't come to thier house and if you have kids don't come to thier house

this issue pisses me off. all everyone wants to do is put down vicious dogs. if a dog has a history like that, it's probably too late to rehabilitate, so it should be euthanized. HOWEVER, nothing is done about the ass-hole owners. they are the ones responsible for buying poorly bred dogs from puppymills via pet store, for not taking their dog to obedience classes, for not properly socializing them, for abusing them, for leaving them in the back yard on a 3 foot chain. no one prevents these people from getting another dog and doing it all over again. we need laws that REQUIRE new dog owners to take their dogs to classes and properly socialize them. having a pet is the same as having a child. they are completely dependent on you and it is your responsibility as a parent to raise them properly. if you can't do that, you shouldn't own a pet. or have children, for that matter. four year old children should not be left with any animal. young children do not understand that yanking on a dog's tail or poking it in the eye or using a choke hold is going to cause the dog to defend itself. even looking it straight in the eyes can be perceived as a challenge by a dog. dogs show signs that they're distressed before they act on it, but you have to be educated enough to see them sometimes. we need to educate people and we need laws for owners, and nothing is being done.
It's the cats you've gotta look out for...and you all think I'm just being a wise ass...but I've never had a problem with a dog....and did have to go to the hospital when I was little because a cat attacked me.
As for Noah...tough little guy...here's to him...but who told him about this other kid? Doesn't seem like the best story to tell an 8 year old victim.
Was someone like "hey son, I know you had this traumatic experience, let me just drive the point home that you should be scared sh!tless of dogs by making you think this happens all the time!"
It was all over the news - dog attacks are big news around here
Okay...what 8 year old watches the news? How's his stock portfolio doing?
My kids watch the news - 14 and 10 year old - they ask questions about what goes on in the world also - my responsibility as a parent is to prepare them to live on their own - yes they are sheltered to a great extent - but I want them to know that bad things do happen in the world
Her last remaining boxer, Georgia, is 11 years old.. Her eyesight is very poor but she still loves to run. I know she takes lots of meds, one for joint pain...
I've been thinking about adopting and training a puppy for her when Georgia passes on...
It's the way the animals are brought up. I've had many, many (I'm not kidding, like over 30) cats and dogs in my short life, and I can say that from first hand experience, while these animals may have natural impulses and ways of behavior, it's the owner's responsibility to make sure they've brought up a well adjusted and friendly animals. (^wow, run on sentence from hell... sorry about that.)
It's quite obvious that dogs are more of a risk than cats, but I've seen dogs from the pound, 2 years old, beaten and just mistreated in general, turn into fantastic animals. My aunt picks up animals from the pound, almost as a hobby.
Not exactly on topic with this topic, but that's my two cents on the issue of domestic animal control.
I wish I had a pick of my dog, so I could show you all what a REAL angel looks like. 10 year old black Cairn terrier. (Think "Toto")
Ok,this thread got a little out of control.Did not mean for it to get on the whole dog issue i do not favor breed specific bans and not dogging out pitbulls(pardon punn) all i was saying was that this is a truely awesome child and people need to take responsability for thier animals.the owner of the dog that attacked Noah refuses to to admit that her dog did anything to him.she keeps saying her dog is not agressive and does not realize that it could have been her own daughter that this could have happened to. same for the grandfather of the 4 yr old child. And like i said this is about a 8 yr old that wants to help others by telling his story. that is all thanks for comments and i can understand everyone's views, although i might not agree with them
