i saw American Beauty last night... that was an awesome movie. Is there anything along the lines of Requiem for a Dream out there? my movie choices are pretty much limited to what's on surfthechannel.com

Have you seen Pi? It's by the same director as Requiem. Crazy crazy movie.

Primer and Grandma's Boy are great suggestions! American Psycho, Following, and The Prestige. (Either I'm a fan of Christopher Nolan or Christian Bale)

hard to find flicks like requeim...magnolia might be the closest as far as suspense like.
Pi The Fountain Children of Men (my favorite movie of the last 10 years) Boogie Nights (my number 2 favorite movie ever) Waking Life (trippy as hell, more of an acidic experience) Memento
Those are, off the top of my head, some of my favorite movies to watch while nomming.

Great choice on Memento, that is a badass movie. Pi is really cool as well, but takes some getting into. I tried to make my roommate watch it, and he was done with it after about 30 minutes. Well he also gave up on Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind after about 45 minutes as well. Along the lines of Boogie nights is Wonderland, a story about the Wonderland murders in LA in the 80's, about the old male porn star John Holmes. It's not a bad movie.

Yeah, it's a good one
Finn: They say he hasn't slept in like over a year. Danny: Bullshit! Finn: Naw, it's true. I've never seen him sleep. Seriously. Danny: Have you ever seen Queen Elizabeth sleep? Finn: No, why, is she a tweaker? Danny:Yes. That's my point.
Not really a good "nomming" movie, so to speak, but a really, really solid film none the less:
Michael Clayton, just saw it for the first time (didn't get to watch Wild At Heart, yet) I really enjoyed that movie. Had a good ending... nice, for a change.

Oldboy or Save the Green Planet! - if you can handle subtitles and craziness The Usual Suspects - if you require your movie in English.
Oldboy is fricken awesome! I love the whole vengeance trilogy. Check out Once Upon a Time in the West, i think the most well made movie ever, though not my favorite.
