HALL OF SHAME continues

PLEASE FORGIVE ME WHILE I RANT A LITTLE......

THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF SHAME CONTINUES!

it is that time of year again. time for the Rock n Roll Hall of Shame to continue its charade of honoring the biggest selling artists that have kissed enuff ass in the past 25 years and have been approved by Rolling Stone magazine

last year i raved about how much of a wench Patti Smith is. i received some real backlash for that opinion. that kinda surprised me. i still believe she has to be one of the worst vocalists in the history of music but i will admit that her influence was significant and her lyrics were ground-breaking. for the time. even tho i can't stand to listen to her, i will certainly concede the point there. i understand that some people like her and were influenced by her songs. you old guys are right. THERE, i SAID IT! BUT ... by comparison, KISS meets all those same qualifications and so much more. the point here is not that Patti Smith didn't deserve to get in, it is that the Rock Hall itself has become an institution not worthy of respect when a band like KISS, who epitomizes everything that rock and roll is about, is left out. as long as KISS continues to be disrespected by the rock hall i will have NO RESPECT for it. johnny rotten said it best when he called the hall a "piss stain"

Madonna is this year's HO OF CHOICE. she would probably be more suited for the prostitutes hall of fame. like a virgin? gimme a break. forgive papa while he preaches here but that synth pop shit ain't rock n roll. this is borderline stuff. did we forget that disco sucks. who's next? barry manilow? madonna shakes her ass to some bubbly pop music written in a studio by a producer and makes a video famous yet a true rock band who plays their own guitars and drums and writes their own songs gets left out. oh yeah, they can also make an arena full of people go wild.
....again, KISS beats her. and more.

this year's inductees also includes John Mellencamp who i do not want to say disparaging things about because i am fan of his. Big Daddy is one of my favorite albums. and john has evolved over the years. but let's be honest, KISS was already a worldwide success before john ever sang about jack and diane.

last year's debacle involving Van Halen was a perfect example of what is wrong. the hall overlords finally caved in and inducted a heavy metal band after Ozzy and Black Sabbath gave their blessing to the hall. and then it was ok to honor van halen. and the core of the band doesn't even show up! after it was all over the voting scandal came to light. the rock hall is such a scam. a farce. a complete joke.

it is my sincere belief that the voters of the rock hall have indeed become the enemies of true rock and roll. they have betrayed the very music that they claim to be honoring. its pathetic. those voters have turned old. they are the kind of "old" that THE WHO once stated "i hope i die before i get..." like that. i too would rather die than to be as "old" and clueless as those voters.

do i feel sorry for them? ...actually, i think i don't. i am just plain angry. SHAME ON YOU ROCK HALL!!! SHAME on you Jann Wenner, Suzan Evans, and Dave Marsh! shame! and PISS OFF too!!

here is my advice for everyone:
DON'T WATCH the induction ceremony! DON'T GO TO CLEVELAND to visit the museum!! DON'T BUY ROLLING STONE magazine!!! DON'T buy madonna's new crap. don't do any of that stuff until KISS has been given their due. anything that has to do with the Rock Hall of Shame should be shown EXCESSIVE DISRESPECT for this blind ignorance. the organizers, administrators and voters of this institution need to be held accountable by the true fans of rock and roll music.

The Cure

note: none of these artists can be classified as "bubbly pop" like madonna. these bands are REAL BANDS that play ROCK 'N' ROLL. and they should all be honored for the music they have given us. whether or not someone at Rolling Stone ever liked them. ( i have to stop now because i think i'm gonna puke )
