in highschool, the math department made a really big deal out of it and would hold contests. My then boyfriend and I made a square shaped pie for the formula of a circle: pi r 2 (pi r squared) with crushed up cereal as the crust and fruit coctail as the fillingg. Then we handed it in with a card that listed the ingredients. I wrote "secretl ingredients" and the teachers refused to eat it haha!
now a bunch of math geeks at my college spend an entire night writing the digits of pi all are the campus with chalk.
hey, im not a math geek, but i do get excited about pi day cause its my bday too!

I could've sworn there was one digit that never appeared in pi... I thought it was 7, but I may have just been gullible enough to believe a random "fact" that a friend told me

Ohhh that's why I had to buy a pie for my daughter's math class today........ LOL I had no idea of the reason. They got extra credit if they bought in pie ;D
haha i love pi day. i wish that we would celebrate it more, but they didn't really make a big deal of it at school. i would always hope that my math teachers would show up with pie deliciousness, but they never did. anyways, this day reminds me of a song on youtube...it's called 3.14 Apple Pi...
