so i just go to brett dennen's myspace page, and he's added a whole bunch of dates to his tour.
HE WILL BE IN AUSTIN ON MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
one small problem, though...i'm in a wedding for one of my best friends on may 10th, so her rehearsal dinner is the night of my birthday. now i'm torn. what are the friggin' chances of BRETT DENNEN being in austin on MY BIRTHDAY?!
not to mention the day will be hard enough being the 1yr anniversary of my grandmother's death, and this would make everything feel easier. omg i feel so selfish even thinking of missing the rehearsal, but OMG!!!!

so i wouldn't be a biotch if i skipped out on the dinner? i mean, i'd definitely stay for the actual rehearsal of the wedding...i need to know what's going on. but the dinner is just going to be a bbq in the backyard of her in-law's, so its not like they've made big arrangements for it or anything, and i'd be back first thing in the morning.
i just know this would be the perfect birthday gift for me on such a gloomy day
I agree. Go see Dennen. I heard you talk so much about him, I know you have to go. If she/he is a true friend she/he will understand. And it's not the real wedding anyway.
Just be sure you tell her you are going....nothing worse than having her upset on her wedding day cause she noticed you disappeared....but if she's a good friend she'll TOTALLY understand that you need to do this....for mental health reasons! ;D

hmm.. i dunno. it depends on how good of a friend it is. if it were my best friends wedding, i wouldnt miss even the rehersal. youll be able to see brett dennon again, but hopefully your bf will only marry once.... just my opinion.

haha...oh i'll definitely tell her. she asked if i'd throw her bachelorette party since her sister sucks and probably wouldn't have done anything, and i happily agreed to. so when she comes for that, i'll sit her down and tell her how much it would mean to me to be at this concert on my birthday.
i just find it hard to make people understand how important music is to me...especially someone like dennen who you all know i'm in love with. i mean, it could have been almost any other band in the universe, and i would just suck it up and say "oh well, maybe next time". but he's going to be in austin for his only texas date ON MY BIRTHDAY. come on now!
i even thought about driving to NOLA the night before, but my best friend is flying in from NYC that night for the wedding, and i have to pick her up.

oh if its not the rehersal and just a bbq then skip it.
oh yeah...i have every intention of staying for the actual rehearsal. i need to know what's going on, and where to go and blah blah blah. the wedding is in san antonio, so its only about an hour and a half from austin which would leave me plenty of time to get back.
the bbq would be all i was missing.
i would hope she knows that taking on the bachelorette party by myself, paying for the hummer limo she wanted, being there through her pregnancy, and the birth of her beautiful baby boy would let her know i love her. but if there's any day out of the year i feel i get the chance to be a little selfish, its my birthday.

yeah, I know your friend only gets married like.. hopefully once in her lifetime.
But what are the cosmic chances of Brett being their on your freaking birthday Ashley?!?!?!
Insane.
If it's just rehearsal dinner, you don't have anything to worry about. Everyone is just going to get acquainted with eachother, eat, and talk wedding, but nothing super serious.
I think if this friend is really a good friend, she'll understand your dying devotion to Brett and know your life can't be completely put on hold for her wedding.
I say buy your tickets to see him!
Devising a plan to get him to see your birthday suit shall be a little trickier, but we'll figure something out.
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo

hahaha...i'm already the one throwing her the bachelorette party in two weeks, which includes paying for the food, pre-drinking alcohol, and hummer limo

John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
If I were the one getting married and you were my friend I would not even hesitate for an instant before telling you to go - as long as you made it to the actual rehearsal and the wedding

thanks meg. the only problem i see is that she's not really in my group of "music" friends. i think she would be too nice to get mad at me about this, but i'm afraid she won't really understand why its so important. we'll see. maybe i'm not giving her enough credit.
And in 20 years you will either be telling your kids, "On my 25th Birthday I went to see your father in concert" OOORRRR "On my 25th Birthday, I went to the rehersal of your aunt bessie wedding to her first (of 4) husband.

think about it.....
LMAO!! that's awesome roofan!!
and i have NO INTENTIONS of skipping the actual rehearsal. i know that while it IS my birthday, i have obligations, and i plan to fufill them. i would ONLY be missing the bbq afterwards.
lets hope she understands enough that it won't hurt her feelings. i'm going to tell her the day after her bachelorette party. that way when she's had a bunch of fun because of me, i can ask her nicely to let me have the night off.
