Hey all!
As you all know, I'm pretty insanely broke right now. I'm trying to find the funds to make it to Bonnaroo, so I decided to put a couple of my old formal/cocktail dresses on eBay. I mean, a girl does not need 4 cocktail dresses and 6 formals. Anyway, I am COMPLETELY clueless as how to sell stuff on eBay. I've never even bought anything off of eBay!
So I was hoping maybe some inforoosters knew some tips and tricks? I mean I've already googled "eBay selling for dummies" haha...and read that, but I just really want to make sure that these dresses sell. I need the cash! Also, if you are interested in buying one of my dresses, PM me. lol.
Ebay has a pretty easy step by step listing system. Some things to remember.
List the item so it ends at a time when people are most likely to be home. I usually end auctions about 7-8pm Central on Sunday.
Make sure you have a TITLE that people can find. Think of the words you would use in a search; maybe include common misspellings.
Before you list, search similar items to see what they are selling for. This will let you know what to expect as a price. It also help with refining your title.
Decide if you want a plain auction or reserve auction. Reserve auctions won't sell the item unless you get your minimum. It costs a little more and can be alittle annoying to bidders but you get what you want. Otherwise be sure your minimum bid is high enough for a regular auction.
ALWAYS include a picture. Ebay will let you upload one for free.
Go try to set one up. If you have any questions, let me know and I'll help where I can.

^^ yeah, definately include a pic..that is the best advice you could get.
AND...
ebay has a reserve system meaning that you set a price that you have to have for an item. Let's say you set the reserve on one dress for $40. Personally when i buy on ebay I sort results by "cheapest first" so you can start the bidding at $0.99 and people will bid like crazy but unless they get up to $40 nobody will win the auction and the item gets re-listed.
