I did a search and did not see anything on this movie, so excuse me if I missed it. Anyways..............
Was I the only person who liked this movie? For those of you who don't about the movie - it is the director of Donnie Darko, Richard Kelly, follow-up movie. Post-apocalyptic story featuring the Rock, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Stiffler, Justin Timberlake, and lots of SNL alumini.
I was really fascinated by this movie. Sure there were plenty of parts that did not really work and some of the dialogue was almost too over the top. But there was so much going on all the time that it really kept my attention and it lingered in my brain for a few days afterward - which is usually a sign of a good movie. Actually, I took it one step further and read about it on the internet so that it would help me understand what was going on better. There were only two other movies that I have done that for - Mullholland Drive and No Country for Old Men - which are both classics. Obviously, I would not put Southland Tales in the classics category, but I am hoping that it gets released in Blu-Ray soon to buy it, because I think that there is a high rewatchability factor. I know that the critics hated it, and it was very tough to follow, but I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to people who like over the top movies steeped with literary, music, and pop culture references, featuring good music - soundtrack by Moby. To me it seemed like a hybrid of Starship Troopers and Children of Men, but on the more campy side. Its definitely an odd but entertaining movie.
I also just watched There will be Blood on Tuesday. What a great movie that was. DDL = one of the best of all time. But I thought that Paul Dano did a great job as well.

I think the movie looks good, Richard Kelly was just in town showing it, but I couldn't go because i had to wait for the guy to come turn on my utilities, but I did get to catch Donnie Darko the night before with him introducing it at an 11:30 showing.

i just d/l'd and watched it today. Very Donnie Darkoesque. A friend of mine was talking to me while I was halfway through, told me watching the rest would be a waste of time. But I liked it.
