If you haven't heard about it, this is Stephen Colber at the White House Correspondents' Dinner and he is brutal to the Bush amindistration and the press. Its only the second half but it is great. The crowd shots are hilarious.
the fact that a comedian can do something like that to the face of our president makes me feel like this country isnt as shot to shit as watching the nightly news usually makes me feel it has. now Iran on the other hand....
You could feel the uneasiness in the room, but there were a few back there chuckling!
you can see the full 27 (or so) minutes bit on google videos, just search.
I love when he said "oh, theres Joseph Wilson and his wife Valerie Plame, Oh, uh, I mean, Joseph Wilson and his wife Mrs Wilson!" (or something like that!)
The glacier comment was priceless!
I never miss the Daily Show and The Colbert Report (unless its re-runs, like this week)

i loved when colbert made a comment "JUST SHOOT ME IN THE FACE" then he motioned to bush and said "oh wait, HE isnt here is he?" referring to cheyne. That shooting accident was a publicity nightmear, bush pretty much had to force cheyne to go public about it and it showed a riff in their "united" administration. good for colbert to publically humiliate him on a subject that already damaged his approval rating

If that's what has hurt his approval rating the general public is dumber than I thought.

Yea, Tucker Carlson needs to get over John Stewart making him look ridiculous. Because of that he was saying Colbert bombed. I just think Tucker is mad cause he knows Colbert has balls the size of Rhode Island. Two cheers for Colbert making fun of our President who brings it all on himself, and well with a lil help from ol' Karl, Dick, and Scooter (makes me laugh, they'll be calling him that while he is bent over in prison). By next year Colbert's balls may grow to the size of TEXAS and just smack Buch back to stupidville.
I would have imagined it would have been Fox News tearing up Stephen.
I loved it when he said Cheney was (I don't remember the exact quote) Dog-faced drunk during the shooting incident.
Funny thing is, even though he was joking, I believe that to be true. I believe the very reason that the public did not find out about the shooting incident immediately was because Cheney and his hunting party were all drunk!
He said they had a beer with lunch - which you should under no circumstances ever do if you're handling a firearm - it's not like they were out there slugging them back all day. With a ticker as bad as his, the last thing you would do is get smashed.
The whole thing pissed me off because he's an irresponsible hunter, which I've always felt there should be consequences for. I knew a kid when I was younger that was shot by another hunter in broad daylight and killed. The shooter was completely sober, just mistook him for a buck. Well, nothing happened to the shooter other than the guilt that he has to live with for killing a 16 year old kid, which I've always felt was wrong. There should be repercussions for people handling firearms who aren't careful enough to handle them responsibly.
Well if he said he had only one beer it must be true, wouldn't expect any falsehoods from those guys, or anyone else in a similar situation(sarcasm intended) I am not a gun expert, but I think I know enough not to shoot someone in the face.

Ill say this, bird hunting is dangerous. Everything happens pretty fast so I didnt hate on Ol' Dick for shooting the guy, but yea, he should have never had the first drink. I also know a boy who was shot by a hunter but luckily he lived. I think Bobby Knight has shot 2 differnet people bird hunting. Its dangerous but if your smart and responsible you can cut down the chance of an accident dramamticaly. My Dad and Brother both were in the military and they taught me at a very young age how to responsible with weapons. My sisters best friend was killed when the gun her step dad was cleaning fired a bullet through the ceiling into her bedroom upstairs, its sad when something as easy to prevent as that happens. I live in an area where everyone has guns and the bad part is most of em have no concept of gun safety. But anyways............WHY NOT TELL THE MEDIA LOL.....I mean they are going to find out, if he hadn't been doing and drinking just tell the media and nip it in the butt. Oh well, just another thing on the list of screw ups. Accidents happen, but when your the Vice President you have to nip it in the butt, thats just good politics.....Hell i thought him and Karl were the brains of the operation.

You're missing the point. This isn't a question of the strength of his integrity, which is questionable to say the very least, it's the strenght of his heart. A guy with a heart condition as bad as his does not go out and get drunk, he'd already be dead if he did.

Bird hunting is very dangerous, it's not uncommon for these kinds of accidents to happen...but I don't think that means that the shooter shouldn't be held accountable for his actions. I'm a gun enthusiast, and safety and responsibility with firearms is absolutely paramount. I learned from my uncles when I was young, and I wasn't allowed to touch a single round of ammunition until I knew everything there was to know about my rifle, proper hunting procedures, and safety precautions.

Man, my dad had 3 heart attacks before he passed away of lung cancer. Trust me, my dad drank. He was by no means alcoholic, but at night after we would go to bed, my dad would break open a fifth of Makers Mark. The heart problems didnt stop himfrom drinking and it didnt kill him. I asked him to stop drinking because of his heart but his reply was, "listen, Im old and this is one thing I still get pleasure out of." So I mean people with heart problems drink, trust me. Oh, and yea, I dont think you were understanding me....the shooter should be held responsible never said they shouldnt.
Like badfish has done his best to explain, Cheney has a pacemaker -- a small machine -- that keeps his d**ned heart beating! He's not out tossing back tall boys.
I for one really don't care either way, he's a fuc*ing dangerous fool, but really don't buy that he was sauced.
