Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I didn't want to post any sort of response - I was more looking forward to the sh*tshow that was sure to result from that thread, and felt cheated that I was deprived of the same.
That's what I thought.
And I do agree that COS does not give inforoo enough credit.

Hey it is hard work to first read inforoo, and then have to go repost it on your site while questioning our ethics. Alex is a nice guy, but he does not really do any original research on his own for lineup leaks.

Alex likely isn't on here as much as we think. Anytime someone confirms a band here people go running to the comment section of the Bonnaroo Festival Outlook page. So he's just likely getting info from there most of the time. Sometimes the comments don't mention inforoo but just point to a tweet.
Do accounts get deleted if not used for any amount of days?
Like if someone didn't post for a year, do they get a warning that their account will be blocked/deleted?
To answer your question, no. To my knowledge there is no warning sent to users that are inactive. Nor is there a setting that specifies when an account would qualify as inactive. We do have the ability to "recount the board totals" This has only been done once to my knowledge. I am not positive as to all the things this utility touches.

Do you think it would help if inactive accounts get deleted? They used to do this on a few forums I was on in Europe. Don't know the reason behind this, but maybe they have a good one.

Apologies if this has been brought up before, but looks like we need adjustment of stickied threads over in "The Hill". Just thinking we should un-sticky Camp Inforoo 2011 and stickify Camp Inforoo 2012 instead. If it's even necessary, I'm sure the thread will stay bumped at the top anyways. Just wanted to bring it up

Hi, I'm relatively new to the board and am a big fan so far. I did notice, however, that when you modify the board to a different "skin", the emoticons posted by others seem to change I.E. Thumbs up smiley to sad face. This(sometimes hilariously) changes members' intended meanings. I don't know if this is correctable at all, or part of Proboard's coding.
Anyways, it's not a big deal. Just throwing it out there.

We actually just noticed that recently ourselves and are seeing how to fix it. Thanks.
So, Mods...y'all are always so patient as new members grow into mature seasoned Inforoosters (big thanks for the patience!). With all your collective experience watching noobs ask typical noob questions or make rookie mistakes, I'm curious: has a FAQ page been considered? (Or if I'm showing my ignorance & it already exists, um...where is it?)
Many new members don't know other Inforoosters in person so they don't get to pick up the slang, the back story, or the "insider" info. The "My Mug" link is great for helping new members set up an avatar, but there is a lot of other stuff that confuses new folks. Would it be possible to have something like a "WTF FAQ" section that explains things like:
* WTF is Friday/Monday: which one is good/bad; how to give it; how to turn it off * WTF is a Mudbather or a Bonnafunky Dirtyroo? What are these levels? How many posts does it take to advance? * WTF is Brunch and why is everybody always talking about it? * WTF is Mafia and why are y'all killing each other? * WTF is a 10% or 20% Warning: why would I get one? * WTF is BMOTM? * WTF is Corncat?
So forth and so on...
The "WTF" part is meant in fun. It wouldn't be appropriate to use that in a section about the history, esp. if we could use that to educate new members about some of our other members. Maybe it's not appropriate to have an In Memoriam thread, but... Is there any way we could honor our now ageless friends - perhaps with an "Inforoo History" section - so new members could learn about those we love? It would take a lot of digging in buried threads to really learn the back stories. (Objections to this are understandable; just throwing it out there.)
As a former clueless noob, I always wondered about how Inforoo came to be. I still don't know the whole story, only bits of info and a few names. It would be cool to hear about when members first joined, how they found Inforoo, etc. Screen shots of old layouts would be entertaining to see, if any are available. A "then & now" comparison of how many members & how many countries are represented, how many threads & mods there were back then - data like that is all part of Inforoo's history!
If new members could ask questions in a thread, it could get out of hand & off-topic. But a stickied FAQ page might eliminate some headaches AND help enlighten the Spotless masses. Sure, some of the answers become apparent with time, but new members often feel like it's hard to break into the ranks. They make mistakes because they don't ask; they don't ask because they don't want to come across as clueless. Maybe having a FAQ could solve that?
Just my two cents' worth. I'd gladly help in any way if y'all think this might be useful.
THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO, MODS! Y'all are beyond awesome.
ok, i was going to keep this question to the 'like' thread but its now locked. if a mod wants to delete this question, i understand. but did bacon really need to be IP banned? if you decide this post needs to be removed can you respond to me via or PM(or direct me as to where to take this question to).
Jhammett made a lot of sense earlier when he suggested a policy of simply deleting threads questioning board decisions. If people really are so upset by something they should take it up with people one on one instead of holding trials in the court of public opinion openly on the board.

Why don't you guys want discussion on the board where everyone can see it and discuss it?

Well now.
Talking about things before they happen is one thing, continually beating a dead horse after a decision is made is something else entirely.
Inforoo was designed to be a free, friendly and open site shaped and defined by its users. To meet these goals, we rely on the suggestions and contributions of those who are interested in making this an even better place.
Obviously, we won't be able to implement each and every idea right away, but even those we seemingly turn down often simmer in our minds and impact the direction Inforoo takes in the future.
lol...this part is my favorite:
Obviously, we won't be able to implement each and every idea right away
He wasn't kidding, I guess. They've been "working on" and "discussing" the emoney situation for what, a solid week?
