So for whatever reason, I can't "like" posts as it just kicks be back to the top of the page.
That's ok. What I'm sad about is my text isn't showing up in boxes. I've tried two different browsers (chrome + firefox) and same thing.

I had this happening at my work machine for a few weeks when we swapped over to the new format. I'm not entirely sure what happened, but it did manage to resolve itself. What OS are you running? Work was using Vista (yuck).
I'm hoping it does. I've updated everything and it's still going on. Serious PITA. I'm running Windows 7 on here. It was an old government laptop that was a refirb that I got for $100. I'm not expecting much outta this.
Why is the Colorado Ron thing so fiercely censored on here? It seems like a pretty serious thing that should be allowed to be discussed and not immediately swept under the rug. We're all adults; pretending something doesn't exist doesn't make it go away. Anyway, just curious.
I just locked up one thread but don't recall doing any actual censoring elsewhere so I'm not sure how to answer for those. In this specific case of me locking the thread it was because I felt we didn't need the unnecessary drama here. I agree that we are all adults but there are many times when people's behaviors and posts would make you think otherwise. If you want to have an actual serious discussion please go ahead. I just figured that thread would turn into insults and a witch hunt....not a calm and rational discussion. So far it's been mostly jokes.
Also, related question: are deplorable (yet not board-related) actions in real life ban-worthy offenses? I know there's plenty of creeps on here but seems like a prime opportunity to comb out (an admitted) one.
It hasn't really come up in the past but it's something the moderators have been discussing. It's a tough call because of a lot of factors but i'm open to idea/suggestions/thoughts on the matter.

I don't believe we have told anyone to stop talking about it. We have deleted no posts. Censored no posts. ITM locked one thread that called him a shit. It was locked because it is regarding a matter on the Cochella board.
As far as banning people because of their life style outside this board, that is a slippery slope. Where do we start, but better yet, where do we end?

Would just like to voice my support for locking that thread. Maybe not what I would have done, but if someone wants to start a troll account with no purpose but to cause trouble (Iamarob for instance) I have no problem with locking that up.
Now if Zapp had started a thread titled "I think it's important to know that CR***** sleeps with children" and THAT got locked, I'd have a serious problem with that.

It's generally difficult to have "calm and rational" discussion when dealing with admitted pedophiles. I think the issue jumps out because lines are drawn for things like the f*cking Capp Dogg account being out of bounds, but a guy admits to f*cking children and as long as it's not on this board, it's all good.
Seems kind of hypocritical to harbor a sexual deviant while saying things that are actually harmless are not okay.

Yeah, I mean Sproat talked someone into OD'ing on drugs and turned personal information of board members against them and it still took weeks/months/years for you people to get behind actually booting him. I guess expecting anything here is like wishing for the sun to crash into the earth tomorrow morning.

Yea, that was another reason for locking it and I agree with the second part of your post. I thought locking it was better than outright deleting the thread. If I felt the thread was for an honest discussion and not just a witch hunt I probably wouldn't have locked it.
I just don't really subscribe to the "keep it on the Coachella board" philosophy because this dude is on our board and what happened really has nothing to do with the Coachella board, but rather has everything to do with another individual's life.
I meant "keep the drama" there but I get what you're saying. Again, though, if a real discussion was wanted we can have one. Up until these posts my knowledge of the Colorado Ron mentions/complaints have been some random jokes in threads. We've been trying to decide how to handle this situation because as I said before....it hasn't really come up before. It's a new one for us.
I'm not abandoning this. I honestly have somewhere I have to go. But I am open to discussion on the topic.

To clarify, my comment wasn't mod-directed, it was board-directed. I'm absolutely still bitter about having to explain why someone who illegally invaded multiple people's private lives had to be banned here. And not only that, that people actually bought that half-assed fake apology and then looked for me to meet him half way? Fuck.That. The fact that people can't tell the difference between "Flanzo is a wise-ass and kind of d*ckish at times" and "Sproat is clinically insane and cares nothing about the ramifications of his actions in regards to fellow board members" was insulting.

He admitted it and he also denied it later. I believe it happened and I think it's disgusting and unforgivable but I don't have any real proof besides words on a screen. That was a question the moderators have been discussing...."Do we ban someone for something they said they did on another site?".

The Sproat stuff was also complicated by the fact that he had actual defenders telling us other things. We didn't know what to really believe because there were two sides who were telling us that the other side was lying/misrepresenting things. There were "Free Sproat" threads and people telling us we were being lied to. As for the specific thing here you said he did I believe he was banned right after this happened since a moderator was aware of it happening and couldn't have been a case of "that's not what I meant" or "I waas just joking" or "He's lying about htat".
We do work hard to try to satisfy everyone and I know things take longer than you'd like in some cases but we really are trying.
Is Ron banned from these boards? Are there underage posters on these boards? Are we allowing underage posters to come into direct communication with an admitted child molester?
ITM, I did say that wasn't mod-directed, so don't take my comments to say "the mods let sh*t drag on because they didn't want to do anything." I understand a discussion will unfold about the off-internet behavior affecting standing on the board, that's cool. It was coming off as "if we ignore this, it'll go away," that's all.
Also, when one "side" is Sproat and Captain Sensory Deprivation Tank and the other "side" is a bunch of people with things like internet memes with clearly stolen images, threats of physical violence, etc., well...I hope you can see why that would be incredibly frustrating.
