Is it possible that a 'new posts' button be put in? So instead of having to go through all the different sections and find the new stuff it would show you all the new posts since you've been gone.
On the main page, scroll down past the various forum links to where it says 'Forum Statistics'. In that little block you'll find a link that takes you to the 10 most recent posts.
A forum will be highlighted blue if there are posts since you last logged in. Also, each separate thread has a blue "new" icon, indicating new posts have been made in that particular thread, since you last logged in.
