So is the consensus to try to get into the Northwoods Campground? That seems to be my interpretation from what I've seen so far. How fast do the better campgrounds usually sell out? Anyone that's a 10klf vet, your input would be greatly appreciated.

The better campgrounds do sell out quickly. I am not sure how quickly but I would buy it as soon as you can. Northwoods and Lake Sallie are both prime camping. Some prefer Lake Sallie over walking through what can be a seedy shakedown in Northwoods. The seedy side of Northwoods is not that bad but if you camp in Lake Sallie you don't have to deal with that at all.
Oh and I forgot to mention another plus about this fest...... There are freakin flushing toilets in the main concert area! How cool is that?! Hehe I know it is silly to get so excited about running water but after dealing with Bonnaroo port o' potties 10klf is like the Ritz Carlton.

On the newsletter it said that an artist addition would be coming soon. I was wondering how many artist additions they had last year, and how big the groups of additions are. Do they normally save some more 'big name' acts for the additions, or is the bulk of the festival already announced?
added today! this one just keeps getting better. cant wait. and superfly take note of what an addition looks like ;D

Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

The Smokin' Bandits are a bluegrass/rock-y bar band from my area. I would highly reccomend them for the people going to this that dont get to see bands local to Minn/Wisco/IA often or ever.
After showing dad the lineup (and the average high temperature) he told me he wants to do this instead of Austin City Limits this year. I'm pretty excited, it seems like a really great scene. After the huge crowds at ACL (65,000) and Bonnaroo it'll be a nice change. Out of curiosity, is it likely they'll add anymore bands? It doesn't really seem like they have a third headliner like SCI/Phil/Trey last year.
P.S. Zappa plays Zappa was what pushed it over the top for me. I want to see them SO badly.
more additions!!! Galactic Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster Gentlemen Toubab Krewe Dubconscious Kaki King Green Lemon New Primitives
this one just keeps getting better and better. i cant wait to see toubab krewe again! hopefully superfly is taking notes while watching these other fests roll out their lineups. this is how additions are done!
and i also noticed that the northwoods campground is sold out.
ya this lineup beats roo for me. but roos 4th at best on my list of lineup excitement. as far as friends going and partying roo is up there with gratefulfest.. but musically there are a few fests with better lineups. imo. roo dosent really have anything special for me this year. everything they have that im excited about i will be seeing at other fests with better time slots to play in. but its still roo! i cant wait to see the schedule for 10klf. i hope umphreys gets a latenight.
^^ I think Umphreys is actually one of the headliners. That is what I have heard, and they are listed third on the line-up. I am so sad I cant go this year... last year I had an AMAZING time there!!! It was a long a$$ drive but it was well worth it!
wow i never really considered that. umphreys headliner would be insane!! and it would put them back ahead of mmj in the headline contest.
ya the drive sucks for me too. and we are going to all good so its going to be even further leaving fro west virginia. but im sure it will be worth it!

damn i love how 10klf does announcements and schedules. it amazes roo cant do 1/19th as good.
but at any rate umphreys is headlining! i cant imagine what they have in store for us. and bisco is the latenight after umphreys. the whole schedule looks great. particle in the daytime kinda sux. keller and the new riders at the same time sux too. but ill live. damn i love summer!!!!
These guys are the shiat and I've been digging them since I discovered them...though I never got a chance to see them since they don't travel to Michigan yet. This could change if all you lovely inforoo folks to be a big favor and VOTE FOR THEM TO BE @ 10KLF!!!
damn i just noticed that on the last night to close it all out the derek trucks band and ivan nevilles dumpstaphunk play at the same time. thats painful. right no im going with dumpstaphunk. but its a tough call.
and ill throw a vote to public property. sounds like it would be a fun show in an under-represented genre.

I'm sort of considering this now, just to see Trey. I can't do the whole thing. Thursday is completely out of the question, and most likely Friday is too (wife is in summer classes and I have kids). I might be able to pull in an out for Saturday, and maybe even the late nights friday. WE'll see. I really would love to see Trey again, cause the man f*ckin rocks.

This is a definite possibility for me.....Some buddies who live up in Minnesotta that are going to Bonnaroo with us are doing this, and a few of my Omaha buddies are thinking of making the trek. I just need a little more convincing.
That's insane how they've already posted the schedule! Two months away even. That's pretty cool.
I am thinking about it. It's like a 20 hours drive but the lineup is worth it. Umphrey's latenight is amazing. Only lake sallie campground passes are left. Should I jump in and kick this summer up a notch (BAM!) ? Is lake sallie as good as northwoods?
umphreys is headlining. which is even more amaziing. and bisco is a latenight after them. i cant wait to see what umph busts out at their first major festival headline. should be insane!!
it's official I just got two tickets and a northwoods pass from ebay for cheaper than normal price. What time should I plan to arrive? I have to plan a little more for this one because it's a huge drive. What is security like there and is there any little secrets needed to be known?
