So the Primavera music festival in Barcelona looks pretty special this year. The lineup is as follows: Smashing Pumpkins, Modest Mouse, Wilco, Slint, Sonic Youth, The Good, The Bad & The Queen, Built to Spill, Ted Leo & The Pharmacists, The Buzzcocks, Klaxons, Isis, Girl Talk, Grizzly Bear, Explosions in the Sky Fennesz & Mike Patton (!), Diplo, Comets on Fire, Billy Bragg, Architecture in Helsinki, Kid Koala, Nathan Fake, Patti Smith, Spank Rock, Band of Horses, Black Mountain, Blonde Redhead, the Melvins, Maximo Park and Mum among many others.
But even more cool is some of the programming they've conjured up. Slint is playing Spiderland in its entirety. And now Sonic Youth has announced they'll be playing Daydream Nation in its entirety.
Very cool festival in a great part of the world. Wish I could go.
