Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I am also excited to see that they are bringing back the Montreaux festival to Atlanta after a couple year hiatus. That was always a fun time. I remember seeing Pharcyde there a couple years back.

I'm definitely going! Piedmont Park is only a few blocks from my apartment, so I can walk and not have to worry about parking. I'm new to Atalnta (& I love it), do they allow coolers at stuff like this? It doesn't really matter. I'm still going but, I was curious.
Yep, you can bring whatever you want and camp out all day. They also will have the usual festival fare for purchase at slightly high prices. Its good that you are in walking distance because it gets more and more packed as the day goes into night with parking becoming an issue. It is also a good idea to set up shop before it gets dark out.

I went to the park today for my first time since moving to Atlanta. I didn't realize how f*cking big it is! I'm even more excited about the Jazz Festival now!
I'm about 30 mins south of ATL, and I can't pass up a free Herbie Hancock show!
Funny, I don't even remember this taking place in the past.
What is the Montreaux fest usually like?
From what I remember (it has been around three or four years since they had one) was a pretty big festival set during labor day weekend, generally with music going on Sat, Sun, and Mon. It was another free festival set up at Piedmont Park. It had a pretty diverse line-up. If I remember correctly MMW was there one year, but that might have been jazz fest. That was the best MMW set that I have seen. And they usually get decent hip-hop acts. I have seen Pharcyde there and I remember missing out on Talib Kwali one year for some reason that I cant recall right now. Just check atlantafestivals.com every once in awhile to see if they have any new info on the Montreaux festival.
I am just happy that the Montreaux festival is coming back because after we lost it, Music Midtown stopped a year later. So Atlanta went from having two fun free festivals and a really good cheap festival (tickets to Music Midtown were like $45 for three days of good music), to only having one festival (the Jazz Festival).
There usually is a summer in the park series of music each year in Centennial park that is either free or really really cheap. So if I hear anything about that, I will try to keep you guys posted. One of the best things about Atlanta, is the wealth of good live music in this town. Its not NY or SF which has crazy music each night, but it gets its good share of bands and the venues are all pretty great.
Actually checked out the centennial park site while writing this, and I found this www.southerncomfort.com/scmxatl/about.aspx Free show with Wolfmother and Cypress Hill with probably another couple good bands beeing added. Last year they had this with the Flips and De La Soul. Free shows are great.
The SoCo Flaming Lips show was the first time I had seen them live.
I have been listening to them for almost a decade now, and seeing the for the 1st time FOR FREE... IN FRONT OF 1,000's OF PEOPLE... and IN THE MIDDLE OF D-TOWN ATLANTA was very, very surreal.
The crowd was HUGE! and loud!
Great show that I will always remember.
Here is picture of me (on the right) and my friend at the SoCo fest last year...

Thanks for the link. I'm definitely going to try and check it out. At least WolfMother. I want to see them live before Bonnaroo. Kind of like a pre-Roo screening process. I just want to manage my Manchester time well. You understand, I'm sure. Anyway, Karma for the update!

Damn, what a list!!! I'm moving down to Athens in the Fall for school and I was planning on just getting a fake then. But now I'll have to find one sooner so I don't miss out.

Sadly, It looks like I may have to miss it. My gf's family is throwing a surprise party for her grandparents 60th wedding anniversary. So, I'm probably spending the weekend in Kentucky.
