THORNVILLE, OHIO — Authorities are investigating several additional drug-related incidents from Hookahville 27 after two people died over the weekend.
Licking County Sheriff Randy Thorp said one person was arrested in connection with aggravated trafficking and nine other investigations are pending from the weekend festival.
He declined to comment on details of the investigations.
Two people who attended the festival, Andrew J. Martin, 21, of Lake Orion, Mich., and Julie Moore, 27, of Westerville, were found unresponsive over the weekend.
Two others were arrested over the weekend for assault and domestic violence at Legend Valley, an outdoor concert venue formerly known as the Buckeye Lake Music Center, on Ohio 13 south of Interstate 70.
One man reportedly assaulted an event staff member when he entered a restricted area. He allegedly had mushrooms on him.
Another man reportedly assaulted his girlfriend and was found just wearing underwear. He told authorities he thought he was on LSD, according to reports.
Deputies reported drugs were found at Hookahville during the weekend. These included a cooler full of marijuana, and a Crown Royal bag of mushrooms, LSD and other substances.
The reports do not indicate where these substances were found.
the crazy thing is that it wasnt that bad as far as fests are concerned. you could find whatever but it wasnt as in your face as many fests. there were tons of kids there. it was a nice time. alot of the articles are giving legend valley a bad rap. one even went so far as to say druqs are openly accepted even thought its advertised as a family environment. the way i see it its on private property and they have uniformed police officers roaming around 24 hours a day. 1 of the deaths was at a hotel. i think they are doing all that they can. i sure hope it dosent have a negative effect on legend valley. although if they moved hookahville to nelson ledges i would be more then happy. after experiencing my first blazing hot fest at legend valley i realized that it sucks. its like roo in a open field but you have a 10 minute walk up hills to get from camp to your car. but it was good conditioning for roo. its a sad thing when people die at fests, especcially such young people. and i dont wanna seem insenstiive. but if your going to put a bunch of k and other crap into your body its bound to happen. the articles dont state it but the word is that both deaths were k related. i wish that stuff would just dissapear from the scene.

Actually, one or two deaths at a festival is not so bad as far as statisics go. 80,000 people over four days, odds are someone's going to die. I guess even the grim reaper likes to go where the good music is.
The one last year died in his tent from sleep apnea. He didn't bring his apnea machine to Roo. Oh, and then there was the guy that got run over by Ricky Skaggs' (I think) bus.

your right.
but i think hookahville is only a few thousand people.
ya the estimates were 3 - 5 thousand. but if you put all the hookahvilles together its over 80,000 and these were the first deaths. the weather was brutally hot. so im guessing that it was just an extreme lack of taking care of yourself and overdoing the partying by both of these people.

Also had the worker just prior to roo who fell off the back of a truck and struck his head on the concrete, killing him.

After being to several Hookahvilles i've noticed a lot more people go there just to partake in the party favors, and not even see the music. The schedule also isnt as tight, so its a lot of hanging out at your camp and partying. Honestly im suprised these are the first deaths there, but its always a possibility when you are digesting these chemicals, especially in this heat.
a friend in the columbus area let us know that he saw a press conference about the hookahville deaths and that the guy that setup right across the street from our camp to sell 1 dollar waters all day was walking through the precinct. we werent doing anything too wrong and we actually messed around with the dude quite a bit. its kinda weird to find out he was a cop. although now thinking back it makes complete sense. i figured he was just some friend of a vendor that didnt fit in with his oakleys and nice clothes. im not too sure how many more trips ill be making to legend valley. its private property and they allow uniformed and undercover cops to work it. that seems wrong to me. although i must say that they dont mess with you for much of anything. we had a great time and partied liek we would at roo or any other fest. 1 friend got harrassed and then they gave all his stuff back and walked off chuckling. im sure most of the people that got messed with earned it by being dangerous or selling death. but i still dont like the fact that an undercover cop is right across from our camp watching and listening. although im sure it happens more then we know. we just happened to notice it this time.

True that^. I dont have a problem with it at a place like hookahville, because if you think about it, its to keep you safe. They arent there to bust guys for smokin weed or getting too drunk, they're there to stop brawls and catch the meth dealers. If a wakarusa thing happened, id be offended, but if they're just trying to stop the big stuff, i have no problem with that. And trust me, those undercover cops have heard and seen it all before, so whatever your saying or doing isnt going to perk their attention.

it kind of sucks when someone quotes "a wakarusa thing" .... it will be better this year .. we will let you know because it is just a week away cr****
you are very right ziggy. they coulda busted us for smoking openly the whole weekend and didnt. there were a large group of excessively drunk teenagers right next to us and they didnt mess with them either. so they were just after the serious stuff. it still rubs me the wrong way a bit. but oh well its just a fact of life.
and canexplain i really hope your right and come back with good news. it was the most painful decision of my summer to decide not to go to wakarusa. what a freeking lineup. if its all good this year ill consider it next year. but im still leary of kansas all together. even if the venue is better the cops can still setup those checkpoints outside on the way in. its not a huge deal for me. im not doing anythign that will get me arested. but if i know or have a hunch its gonna happen ill just avoid the hassle and harrasment. kansas just dosent seem like a very kind state to me. i dont know who had the bright idea to throw a fest in kansas but i wish some other state would have popped into their head.

it was the guy who owns The Bottleneck in Lawrence,KS, and I kind of feel bad for him, because the cops doing what they did last year hurt his ticket sales for this year, he had done Wakarusa in previous years with no hassle like there was last year, but someone overdosing in 2005 is all it took for the state to have their cops do what they did.
maybe they should not worry about some hippies smoking weed and go downtown and harrass the guys who walk up to you fucked out of their minds asking for a dollar
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**

I had an old guy at roo ask me for a dollar because i "look nice"
I told him I wasn't nice and walked away. He was clearly just some festival rat and probably wanted a better look at my wallet.
