and I had the most amazing experience and time of my life. I need time to let it all sink in, but I promise to post a review, and my pictures.
I seriously feel like I've changed for the better after Allgood, and truly hope you all can experience it next year. I for one will never miss it again... AHH!!! ;D
but ya iclips.net had allgood and high sierra and prob some more too. not sure who's gonna have the 10klf webcast nextweek but im sure it'll be there somewhere.
Glad to hear some people liked Bobby. I was reading on another board that we was messed up on something and could barely sing. They said he also played way past his set time and cut into the Duo's set and then came back out and interupted the Duo's set. Any truth to this? Glad you had such a good time, I'm pissed I couldn't make it this year.

im not sure about the duo thing, i went to take a nap after bob so i could be ready for sts9 - i heard a bit of the duo cuz i was so close, but im pretty sure he didnt come back out. I do know that cuz he ended late, sts9 started way late, so maybe the duo didnt get cut off? oh, he sounded good to me? i was kinda out of my head tho;).

So Becca, how was STS9? Is it possible that they were even better than at Roo? I find it hard to believe, however I would be pretty happy to know that they somehow managed to put on an even better show for you guys!
edit: oops, I just noticed your edit about reviews coming later... I'll be patient and just wait for that
all good was sick. what a beautiful festival site, weather was great, xept friday which was FREEZING. 62 out with a very very thick fog. made the whole night feel ultra surreal though.
ratdog was supposed to play from 11:30-1:15, at which point the duo was supposed to go on. ratdog got off stage at about 1:45. about 3 minutes later the duo started playing on the side stage (which is side by side with the main stage) they got about 10-20 seconds into becky when bob weir came back out on stage and the duos sound got cut off. the duo threw there arms up and walked off stage. rat dog played for about 30 more minutes. duo eventually went on at 2:10ish. although it ended up pushing the other performances back, they iddnt cut the duos set short. they played for 45-55 minutes. and boy were they amazing!!!!! really a killer performance. great great setlist, and you could just tell they were having tons of fun on stage. all good has a way more party atmosphere than other festivals in my opinion.
sts9 went on at about 2:50-3ish and played till almost 5am. great great set by sts9, better than there bonnaroo set by far. incredible light show that looked spectacular against the crowd and thick fog/humidity in the air.
before ratdog, Lotus played the second stage. if you dont know who they are yet, check them out. played the best set ive ever heard from them, i feel like they rocked the crowd harder than any other band that night. just wow.
as far as sat. night goes, new monsoon was really cool, im not tooo into micheal franti and spearhead but it was a decent set, i just sat off the side and relaxed while listening. also not a huge tea leaf green fan, but they played a really fun set. Moe was good. raely got the crowd going. i heard the first few songs from the slip as i was walking away from the concert area. i ttoally missed the moe all star jam at 2am though, my body was rocked, i needed to lay down and rest.

^^^thanks for the review john! Sounds like a fabulous time! I think it's pretty lame for bob weir to come out on stage after Duo already started playing and then had their sound turned off. I would've left his show in protest probably

after he was done the encore, he tried to introduce the duo, but kept saying the bentoven duo. or something like that, tried over and over, just couldnt say the name right. hahaha.

Allgood was perfect for me from start to beginning. I went with my friend kevin, and just him....going with only one other person to a fest is the best thing ever - esp. if you guys agree upon everything..... the drive up was absolutely breathtaking:
it was like this the entire way up. We got to the site on Friday afternoon and had no traffic coming in, Masontown, WV makes Manchester TN seem like a metropolis - its TINY..
we had to drive up this crazy dirty/rocky road, for a while, and then FINALLY we got to the site
we parked our car, and started to walk in the direction some guy pointed us towards because we got there on friday - we really were able to camp wherever, alot of people got guided to spots and what not, but it was really easy for us just to pick where we wanted to camp. we ended up literally 20 feet from the entrance to the main stage -
you can see our tent in that picture above, its to the left of the lil bush and to the right of the red topped tent.. the first show was got to see was Yonder - they played a kickass set - and it started to rain while they were on - it continued to rain for a while - and when it became night time - it got FREEZING - but thankfully I took alot of warm clothes with me so it wasnt a problem. Nothing really could have ruined this weekend for me Bob Weir was awesome - pretty much whatever everyone else said. as far as STS9 - i only saw a little of the roo set - but i think the set at allgood was better. we got up sooo close and everyone around us was really amazing and nice...actually everyone we encountered and talked to was so cool.. on friday night/morning the rain/cold left the mountain with this amazing dew - everything was so surreal looking.
up the hill from our site was a rock garden:
at night it was all lit up... the next day we woke up - and it was perfect out, I started my day out with pepetual groove followed by grace potter.. lots of hoola hoopers:
more pics from saturday day: rope-a-dope stage:
waterfront view at our campsite:
crazy veggies:
from the ropeadope stage:
the music on saturday night was great - frantis set was fun
- but we listened to most of it from our site, and moe. was really great. Jon said there wasnt alot of energy but from where i was which was really up close everyone was dancing there butts off. the late night superjam was AWESOME. The highlight for me was grace potter coming out and doing a KICKass version of Cortez The Killer.
anyways, im missing alot and will post more later, i just had to get SOME of my experience out in words, lol. i have a huge gallery of pics - here is the link: s194.photobucket.com/albums/z163/allgoodbecca/ start on page 4 and click on the dog and then go 'back' to go in order from start to finish.. all in all i have to say, i wont miss this fest ever again - it really depends on the lineup - but if i had to choose allgood or roo - i would do allgood again. but i hope and plan on doing both next year...
P.S. Got to hang out with Wooz for a bit, and Chris (roofan) and Joel (Teine)...joel got a picture of me him and chris - I cant wait to see it....

i heard "benvenito" a bunch of times during the pronunciation fumble; in the end it was still never said correctly. oops! i happened not to be in front of the stage at the time, but here's my understanding of what happened: bob & ratdog stepped off the stage briefly to reappear for an encore number, but by the time they picked up again the duo had already just begun to play. i'm guessing it was a simple miscommunication backstage / between the two stages that turned into a majorly awkward musical moment. besides, the artists on the two stages would have been out of the lines of sight of their counterparts. did anyone hear the comment (i think from someone in ratdog) about it becoming a battle of the bands? or that the young guys should hold off because the old ones weren't through yet?
a couple of personal highlights: Dark Star's show thursday night (10-29-77), moe. and the allstar jam saturday night, keller doing some of his older material, the lee boys, the proximity of my campsite to the main stage (i was across the pond from becca, it seems), meeting wonderful people....
it took an unfortunately long time after DSO had already begun their show for the sound technicians to get the levels right. there were voices i couldn't hear at all for the first couple of songs.
franti gave a similar show to his bonnaroo one this year (incl. the sesame street medley and sublime cover), though it seemed lower-energy than bonnaroo's. oh, and this time there was no flower arranger.
the torrential downpour that chased away leftover salmon's last notes on sunday eve was reminiscent of much of All Good 2005. by the end of the festival yesterday the rock sculptures pictured above—if they were still standing—were rising impressively out of racing, muddy, miniature rivers. overall, though, i found the weather this year to be pretty magnificent.
i didn't actually witness the reworking of the big "welcome to all good" sign throughout the weekend, but, as in years past, it definitely made its way through a couple of variations. on saturday i noticed that a certain letter had been removed to make it say "we come to all good," and by sunday afternoon it had been pared down to "we me all go." There may have been other steps along the way, too.
hooray, hooray, hooray! what a fantastic weekend!!

goodness, no!, and i'm sorry to hear that. i was up on the hill, not too far from the clean vibes headquarters. the only consistent noise at my site came from the first aid trailer's generator or from the main and magic hat stages
as for running into one another—agreed! then again, perhaps we did... i'll send you a private message with an identifying characteristic or two

i had a bad 'first aid' experience i fell down the big rocky hill when we first got there friday and scraped my leg up pretty bad and twisted my ankle.. the guy who 'took care of me' wasnt very nice. the only bad vibe i got all weekend...
Wow...I cant even think of words to describe my allgood experience! Absolutely the best festival I have ever been too...period! No roo has ever topped this allgood trip for me, no way.
The rumor about bobby coming back and cutting off the duo is true, but i didnt care, bobby fuckin ripped! Not true that he was messed up I thought he sounded great!
I got to shake Bobbys hand after the set. ;D
STS9 was amazing! Lotus was amazing!
The quality of the sets were very impressive to me. I dont know if it was the shorter set lengths or the setting or what but I felt the music overall was better than at roo. The sound was great for the main and side stage, the ropeadope could have been a little louder!
I saw frantis small set a the ropeadope and was front and center onthe railing. I got some great picutres that I will post later if you like franti...
I could write a book on my allgood experience...it was great and I already plan on going next year!
all good was indeed all good. except i couldnt find any inforoosters or the camp flag. although apparantly i was within 10 feet of chris at frantis rope-a-dope set. i was center like 8 rows back. damn it was awesome when he came out in the crowd to jump around! i wish more artists were that into the positive energy of a show and crowd for a small set on a tiny stage that was hardly even noticed by most. hes an incredible dude. dark star was great. it was my 6th dso show in 9 nights and i wasnt overly excited but that was a killer show. moe was insane!!!! it was my first time seeing them at night for a big show. one of the craziest shows ive seen. we were front row between the stage and the video screen and amazingly we had plenty of room to dance. and we danced non stop for hours. grace potter is a goddess. i cant decide if the moe set or the super jam was my favorite show of the weekend. they were both so amazing. and left over salmon was great too. although it was one hell of a walk back to camp through that crazy ass typhoon rain. all good is insane. after the moe superjam we were walking down shakedown and came up on 8 tanks and hundereds of people just raging right in the middle of shakedown. it was insane to hear that many tanks and that many people laughing all in one tiny spot. and with security driving through it on golfcarts like it was all ok. what a scene. unfortunatly marvins mountain top killed my transmission. so that sux. i almost didnt make it home. cars suck! but it was worth it. cant wait for next year. hopefully the weather will be like this year but without the monsoon to end things.
btw- there is an excellent recording of the moe show on archives that you can download or stream

superjam and moe. were indeed my fave too. other than sts9. i agree, grace potter is a goddess. i couldnt believe how damn good she sounded during cortez. she rocked the fuck out.

oh i wanted to tell you guys about the festival taxis. there were little golf carts that took you wherever you wanted to go for i think 3 bucks. i never had to use it, but i thought it was a brilliant idea.
it was definitely a all a mis-cue with the duo. i don't think anyone was expecting ratdog to come back out for an encore. they started up right when bobby & co was walking back out on stage. their sound went down and bobby got on the mic and was like "whoa there boys". i don't think the duo even realized their sound went off at first b/c russo kept pounding away on the drums. that's when bobby said, "ok, i guess this will just be a battle of the fucking bands" and the crowd went ape shit! after the encore the mc came out to introduce the duo and kept on screwing up and calling marco "bienvenito" to which marco started cracking up and said "hi, i'm marco bienvenito and this is joe russo" and then they kicked into their first song...
and yeah, grace potter is sooooo f'n hawt!! i would seriously marry her in a heartbeat if i had the chance! i was on the rail for the second year in a row and man, the faces she was making was seriously making me pitch my second tent of the weekend!!
damn.... another close encounter of the inforoo kind. i was up front for grace too. right behind some dude against the rail flying a horse helium balloon from his head that is blocking at leasst half of my grace potter pics. it screwed up all my pics of the whole band playing the drums. that was my favorite part of the set. they were having a blast. i wish i had a blow dart to take out that damn horse!!
Dude!-I'm interested in your review of Gratefulfest--the scene, the shows, the crowd, vs. last year etc.
I live about 45 minutes from the ledges but still couldn't make it. Ate my own head off(heart out ?!) the whole weekend. Feel free to PM me or post it in it's thread if ya would please !
