Nope, cannot camp out. It's a race course and I am betting the Ballmore cops will be hard core about getting everyone out at the end.
Also, don't think there are any hotels walking distance... it's like between the rough part of the city and a nice suburb in the middle of neither (okay, that was so random, but i hope you know what that means - DD or a cab). And there aren't any campgrounds in decent distance from there.
If I had a house that had room (and could afford to go) I would offer a place to crash, but I live in a shoebox 40 minutes away

Good luck finding a room near public transportation that doesn't cost a million dollars at this point... had trouble doing that a month ago CANNOT WAIT UNTIL NEXT WEEKEND THOUGH!!!

I've got my eye on a campground or two that might have spots open. If the weather's clear, I'd load up my motorcycle and ride down... kinda like what I'd wanted to do for 'Roo.
And yeah, I think my bike would be safe in a parking lot in Baltimore. Any cycle thief who'd go after a BMW is a moron and prolly couldn't get it in gear anyways; Beemers are perhaps the least stolen bike on the road in America - there's practically no demand for chopped parts.
Both Cherry Hill and greenbelt are nice. Cherry Hill is more expensive because it's got a pool, rec center and the fancy shmancy stuff.
greenbelt Park is right near 495 and 295 as well (like Cherry Hill) so it's easy to get to Pimlico. And I live about 2 miles from Greenbelt Park Not going to Virgin though because we are supa dupa poor but let me know if you'll be at Greenbelt, maybe we can meet up for breakfast on Sunday - right down the street is a Denny's and a Chevy's and Chevy's has a kick-booty brunch. ;D
i won't be going either, as i'll be soaking up the sun for TWO WHOLE WEEKS in the outer banks
kinda wish i was around cause i'd love to see modest mouse and spoon (since i missed them at roo), but i won't regret missing the hot/humid mess it's predicted to be!
my friends are going from Columbia, which is midway between Greenbelt/College Park and Pimlico so if you're going alone, let me know and if you want some peeps to hang with, I can forward you their info or vice versa.

No there's parking, you just have to be a little creative, supposedly, last year, for a fee, people were letting people park on their lawns
Anyway, this is from their website...
In addition to on-site parking, off-site parking options near Pimlico are available. Just follow the signs on show day. While spaces last, for a fee, you can park at Pimlico Middle School, at 3500 W. Northern Parkway, just five blocks from Pimlico. You can also park at the Rogers Avenue Metro Subway Station and take the MTA shuttle to Pimlico. To park at other Metro Subway Stations, take the Metro Subway to Rogers Avenue and then catch the shuttle to Pimlico. Free street parking options are available around Pimlico.

Hrm... may have to take the car instead then. Parking a bike in a 'permit-only' lot next to the venue is one thing; parking in a public lot several blocks away in a bad neighborhood is an entirely different matter.
Tick tick tick.... must decide soon... guess I'm kinda hoping they sell out, so I can feel better about not going.... brain turning to mush.... big question: will I regret going more than I'll regret not going??? hrm.....

NO... I screwed up the mapquest directions, sorry 'bout that... its actually 46 minutes away... but I found a secret brand new hotel Hyatt at the Ogsden Mills Metro stop (so new it doesn't appear on hotel internet searches)... $160, but we got a suite and it's three of us crashin' in style. Will miss you there Spooky, thanks for the beer!

f*ck f*ck f*ck, my reservation was lost too! wtf!!
hey, whats the site for cherry hill, i need a place for saturday night!
it was browns motel, they said my card was rjected even though on the same day i made a reservation with a b+b for friday night and that was fine. i never got a call form browns about it. the guy said for me to call after 1 to see if there's still room, if not i gota scramble.
i saw the hyatt you posted but that may be a little too much. i'm already shelling out $200 for the b+b, now i'm looking for a place under $100.
Yeah, Cherry Hill and Greenbelt are probably equal distance away, more like 35-40 minutes since you'll be taking 95 most likely to get there. Luckily it's a pretty clean drive, not lots of neighborhoods.

Greenbelt Park has about 19 tent campground sites left, at $16/night. It's about 25 miles away - almost the same distance as Cherry Hill (which is $40/night, but does have some extra creature comforts).
