Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
A little less than a year ago, my parents moved from Fayetteville to Fairburn, to a dirt road on the banks of the river. Thinking that they were getting away from the traffic and congestion of city life, they were told (around April) by an old friend who is in the music promotion industry, that there was some news of land being sold nearby for use as a concert and camping ground. I had a gut feeling it would be something cool, but I had no idea! My folks live less than a five minute slow senic drive from the grounds! Maybe I can convince them to leave town for the weekend...
The lineup is already stellar, but I expect that a few more big names will be added within the next month. My hopes? Devendra Banhart, Black Keys, Dylan, Built to Spill, Deerhoof, Zappa plays Zappa, Lou Reed, Neil Young, Andre 3000, Radiohead (I can dream), Spoon, Ween, and The Violent Femmes.
I keep you guys updated if I find out any undercover information.
"All in all, the creative act is not performed by the artist alone.. the spectator brings the work in contact with the external world by deciphering and interpreting its inner qualifications and thus adds his contribution to the creative act." -- Marcel Duchamp

This is radically tubelar guys! Just got my tickets, and am excited for phil & pals(should be at the top but whatever), Toubab krewe!, Thievery corp! (omg), les, bisco, moe, umphreys, RJD2, Tea Leaf Green, and the masters of acoustic, Rodrigo Y Gabriela! Where's the rod Y gab love?
as for the Roots, i must say that their roo set was kickass, BUT even though i got to meet most of the members (Hump, Qlove, black thought) at big summer classic, they repeated the exact set, even the 15 mintue radio jam, the bass solos, the setlist was exact! i was dissapointed but i did get to meet them with was awesome and got a drumstick from questlove
while i'm really really stoked about this, does it seem kind of stiff to you guys? or do you think it's just because we can't have any real expectations or experiential advice here...ya know what i'm saying? it seems much more serious than roo!

I think it seems more secretive. No information on specifically where it is located. No much information regarding camping and whatnot. If I were going, I would want them to let me know details of what's going on. It's only 2 months away.

im in the same boat when it comes to franti and spearhead. i love seeing them. its always a great show. but its always the same show. right down to the sublime>sesame street thing. it was the same set at langerado, mountain jam, bonnaroo, all good, and every other stop on the tour as far as i can tell. same set played the same way. the acoustic set at all good was awesome though. im just tired of them doing the same thing everytime. but im still excited to see them again.
Dude, they update the site. The gates open at 3 p.m. on Thursday. Although the concert venue area is not open until Friday, they "highly encourage those seeking spots near the venue area to join us for the pre-party Thursday night." (That is under "Travel" - "Camping").

As far as I can tell Tickets are still available at the Super Early Bird price... they weren't any cheaper last week.
The site updates, but I'll admit that there is surprisingly little info about this fest on the web. However - as others have said, it's the first year and we're the pioneers on this one. Who knows what it will be like? Although I'm still trying to convince my husband that we should eat Ramen noodles for the next two months to afford this, shouldn't we start a who's-going type of thing with all the confirmed info updated by the starter of the post at the beginning of the thread? That way we could find out which ones of us are officially going - while having a central location for confirmed data (rather than trudging through 4/5 pages of thread to find out vital stuff) If no one does this by tomorrow morning I will... even if I don't get to go... And even if my poor thread dies on the first day...

thats odd. when i go to the site its moved onto the early bird tix for 155.50. and when they sell out it goes up to 175 or something like that. i thought they were 120 before. it also says 200 at the gate. im wondering how much the service charges are. seems like they might be about the same at the gate by skipping the service charges.

its telling my sister 155.50 too. not sure whats up with it telling you 120. i wisht iwas saying that to us!
and i just noticed that you could scroll to the right on the website for links to more info. im retarded.
looks like another anti glow festival. it says glowsticks wont be allowed into the concert area. and it also says the music typically ends around midnight. thats not so great. but it does leave plenty of time to party all night. which is fun.

dudewheresmyroo??? are you actually going into the buy now making you username part or just looking on the site cause it still says early bird 120 in there just checked.
ok i see now. when i click on the buy now thing it still says 120. i was just clicking on the ticket tab on the website and it says 155.50. sweet! thats good news.
so i am assuming that if the music typically ends around midnight that there are no latenights. just headliners. which means moe., umphreys, bisco, thievery corporatin, will all be daytime shows. hmm im gonna have to think about this one. i guess i should come for phil alone. but its so damn far! im not into the flaming lips. my mom always told me if i couldnt say anything nice then dont say anything at all so i have no comment on the killers eating up a headline slot for this. and i hate dumb rules like no glow. i suppose its possible that the killers and the lips dont put on very long shows so there could be 2 nighttime shows on those nights. it is october and darkness could be coming early. is atlanta in the eastern timezone?
Post by nature boy on Aug 14, 2007 23:14:29 GMT -5
I thought I read something about the event planners saying the acts wouldn't go past 2:00am or so... yes, Atlanta is EST.
As far as the no-glo rule goes... you've got to consider the direction they're heading for this festival. They want it to be a green event... I believe they're concerned with people throwing plastic bits all over the farm. Someone has to pick that $hit up ya know?
good point. glow sticks arent very green. i had hear 2am previously too. but on the faq or soething on the site it said they dont know how long the artists will play but that music generally ends around midnight. i guess we will have to wait for a schedule to see. i sure hope moe and UM are night shows.

Reasons to go: Flaming Lips Thievery Corporation The Roots Cypress Hill Les Claypool Clap Your Hands Say Yeah Rodrigo & Gabriella Polyphonic Spree Brazilian Girls
Are they still selling tix @ $155? ([EDIT]No... they're actually $120 still!!!)
[edit] Also, what about airport shuttle service? I'm not seeing anything mentioned...

I think it is every 30 mins. check under travel. Are you going to make it spooky? If so who buys the first round...wait this is the south. 1st round is on me if you are there.

LOL... well, the new lineup additions are pretty tempting, and with airfare, super early bird prices, and camping included, I can do the whole thing for under $400 if I go solo. That's might make it just cheap enough to fly under my pre-Voodoo budget. However, missus might want to go too, which would double the cost... but she's the accountant in the family: if she says we're good, we're good!
