What are your feelings on Rabbit In The Moon? I'm really excited for another chance to see them but,...
I saw them in '95 (Knoxville)and they BLEW ME THE FVCK AWAY!!!! I saw them in '97 (Winston-Salem)and they took it to a whole different level! (I actually danced 4 of my toenails off!) Both shows were mind-fuckingly incredible!
Then.... I saw a couple of (recent) live clips of them at the Ultra Festival on OnDemand....and THEY SUCKED!!!!!
Was I just young and naive? Was it just some bad performance clips? Have they changed that much? Have I?
Any thoughts or opinions?

I actually saw them for their cd release party here in orlando and if anything that was the most interactive show i seen in orlando.. flaming lips of course takes the cake for mores interactive show ever seen.. But Monk did open for Rabbit in the Moon and well basically they had so many different stage props it was nuts.. unless they arent able to bring the crazy inflated suit, the big bubble, the robot, the grinder, or the light outfit then we are in for a treat...
have yall heard anything about camping? is it camp by car, or you have to lug your stuff to a tent only place? I know once you're in there it doesn't really matter what you do at most venues but it doesn't hurt to be extra prepared.
edit: any updates on that Thom Yorke rumor about him playing at echo ?

I had been wondering the same thing myself. There's not much info on such matters, but in the FAQs I found this -
"For every one's safety, once you are parked in the camping area your vehicle must remain there for the duration of the event. If you plan to come and go during the event you must park your vehicle in the day Parking lot. Camping is not permitted in the Day Parking lot. You may camp away from your vehicle in any available space you find in the campground."
If I had to guess, I would say that "more to come" means a few smaller bands and a few activities to be added.
I can't imagine that these tickets are selling in huge numbers, so therefore they can't hire as many BIG bands to play. No radio spots. No magazine or newspaper advertisements. It is a grass roots thing. Good to see.
Though I have my doubts that Thom Yorke will be added, my fingers are crossed.
A schedule and some more information would be nice though.
"All in all, the creative act is not performed by the artist alone.. the spectator brings the work in contact with the external world by deciphering and interpreting its inner qualifications and thus adds his contribution to the creative act." -- Marcel Duchamp

^^It's always the smaller bands that get me interested anyway. I RARELY give a damn about headliners and this one isn't much different. I'd love to see Yorke get added but, I don't see it happening this late. Hell, they've got to be running out of space/slots by now. Regardless, It's going to be an amazing way to close-out the summer!
soo from some sources i have on the phantasy tour page i hear they are tryin for one more big name band.. Not sure who but im sure it will be announced in some time also a billboard was put up for the festival check it out i192.photobucket.com/albums/z20/i_h4te_ewe/echo.jpg also a article on the dude who is throwin the festival, the man is pretty damn cool wish i could live the good life like him. www.ajc.com/search/content/shared/green/stories/green_echo.html

I was just on the site, and I noticed Medeski, Martin, and Wood were gone. Have they cancelled?
They're back on. I wanna hear the Wood brothers, too. I missed them in 2006. I wish I hadn't. My buddy said it was one of the best shows he saw. I guess that's what happens at your first day of your inaugrual Bonnaroo experience. Those seven shots of whisky and copious beers kinda blurred my schedule on Thursday.

Who, if there really is one bigger band, do you guys think it'd be.
I'm still holding-out hope for Thom Yorke. I was really hoping that Volta would be there promoting their new disc but, with it's release being pushed-back to January, I don't see it happening anymore....But I'd give both of them up for a little P-Funk!

That'd be a damn good one. So would Yorke, but that sounds a little unlikely.

That would be nice... looks like that falls right in the middle of their break before their european tour though... so unfortunately I don't think so.

I went to the grocery store earlier to buy beer (New Castle) and dog food (Alpo) and there were Echo Project posters hanging on all of the doors. It dawned-on me how damn close it is!I can't wait......and I won't have to much longer!
