i planned on going. just couldnt swing it. but im kinda glad after hearing all the reviews. sounds like there were plenty of issues. it was horribly organized and ran. it was in a ghetto and there was no security for the campgrounds so ghetto crackheads were stealing everything. people arrived but they werent letting them in because of rain. so they stuck them in ghetto parking lots with no facilites. no bathrooms. so everyone was going everyewhere. and families with children were really screwed to be walking around a ghetto looking for somewhere for the kids to poop. i guess there was a lot of stealing out there and fights were breaking out all over from people trying to break into cars and rvs. they said youd be able to camp in front of your car but most couldnt and alot even had to park in ghetto alleys by run down abandon buildings and take a shuttle to the camp area. i guess they sold twice as many tickets as the site could comfortably handle. it appears it was all about profits this year. and ive heard some complaints about the sound setup. that it just didnt sound good and they used 1 sound system for both stages. so ya im glad i didnt go. i dont know if i could handle another disappoining sellout of one of my favorite fests. i dont know if ill go next year either. i will probably wait until they move it out of seaside park.

I just read 8 articles posted in the CT Post over the weekend and they were pretty much all positive. They do mention that people who got there during the rain had trouble setting up, that people who got there late on Friday had to camp a mile away on a different beach and take a shuttle bus to and from, and that there was one arrest because a guy on bad mushrooms assaulted security. But other than that, from the music, to the people, to the atmosphere, etc... all of the articles just talk about the overwhelming good vibes that were present for 4 days last week in the normally gloomy town of Bridgeport. I guess it could just be the CT newspaper doing PR for their state, but now I really want to hear it from someone who was actually there. Anyone???

I attended and have to say that i had an amazing time. the venue was absolutely gorgeous, best i've ever been to. the vibes that i saw and felt were all good...P-Funk was my highlight too
I've read a few other comments on the fest and all have been overwhelmingly positive!
Where are you hearing the nightmare accounts from, Dude?
i have talked to some friends that went and they had a great tie also. they said there were somw issues and the sound did suck if you werent upfront and center but they said they had an awesome time. they all like ilcc much better but they still had a wonderful time.
all of the bad reviews and horror stories i heard about were on the vibes message board.
After browsing through there though, it doesn't seem like there are THAT many more bad experiences than any other festival you read about these days. Many of them seem to be related to some blatant stupidity or just being a malcontent -- who knows though. I'm only so curious because this is one of those fests I was SERIOUSLY thinking about doing next year.
ya it does come off as a smaller amount now that sometime has passed. the day after the fest it was almost all complaints. i guess the people who had problems were just quicker to come back and report. a happy customer tells 5 people and an unhappy one tells 50. i will still consider going next year. id pefer it back at the nice setting of illcc. but my main reason for giving them a chance is that the people who are running it are in the forums listening to complaints, accepting responsibility and acknowledging the complaints as opposed to just shrugging their shoulders and saying ya cant please everyone or you will always have haters. they are looking for solutions to the issues. so im gonna give them a chance to make it all right next year if i can afford to make it.

I hear a lot of folks talk about how awesome all the Colorado/Western fests are, but at the end of the day, many of the lineups that ride closer to my own preferences are to the East -- GOTV being one of them. I'm hoping to do GOTV and All Good next year, but it's really going to depend on some work related things that I might be going forward with.
