I just saw oklarooer's post asking how to rip the ACL webcasts and was like holy nuts, in exactly 8 days I will be on a plane to Texas!!! ;D
Anyway, anyone else going? I've been in extreme need some fun time away from NYC, and it's totally gonna be quite the kickass rock and roll paradise. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait... it's different feeling from that intense pre-Roo build up, but still, each and every day I get even more excited than the day before, and I think to myself, how is that even possible??? But then lo and behold the next day comes, and holy crap, I'm even more excited than I was the day before I guess until I finally get there... sky's the limit on that one ;D ;D ;D

We'll be there...hope to somehow find other inforooers in the venue.
Find us camped under the large tree right next to the last beer stand on the right hand side (facing the ATnT stage).
Behind the tree are some "hidden" port -os, tend to stay cleaner than the average bear.
If I hear corncat calling, we will all answer nom nom.
OTherwise, one of the days I will wear my inforoo tshirt or a bonnaroo shirt.
TTFN
Damn, we were right under that tree near the secret porti's alot... I totally should've put out the call aw well, better late than never... COOOOOORNCAAAAAAAT!!! Good to know my peeps were around- such a great weekend, one of my favorite festivals ever... maybe even my favorite ever, SO GREAT!!! nomnomnomnomnom ;D

Wow, what a great weekend! I really don't have much time for a thorough review now, but I will rattle off who I got to see....
Friday Bela Fleck & the Flecktones Blonde Redhead Big Sam's Funky Nation Joss Stone JJ Grey and Mofro LCD Soundsystem Queens of the Stone Age (show of the day) Kaiser Chiefs The Killers Bjork
Saturday Dr. Dog Augustana Steve Earle Stephen Marley Damien Rice (show of the day) Indigo Girls Muse
Sunday Brandon Rhyder STS9 Grace Potter and the Nocturnals (wow.) Ben Kweller Common Charlie Musselwhite Bloc Party My Morning Jacket (show of the day) Ziggy Marley The Decemberists Bob Dylan
I hearby change my vote to no for Bob Dylan to ever headline Bonnaroo, he is better suited for a afternoon/pre-headliner set. IMO. His show was great, if only to say you've seen Bob Dylan, but not really much more than that. He gets my up most respect always, but I would never pay money to see him solo. (Festies only)
I also reinforce the fact that Bonnaroo really needs MUSE, they are severely underrated, shunned by every possible music critic, but yet somehow they put on one of the most amazing live shows out there today. Vote for MUSE late night in 2008!
I'll update later with some pics, and specifics about a couple of my fav shows.

I too have no time for a full review right now, but man, what a GREAT TIME!!! Hoodoo saw a bit more than I did (my crew tended to spend a portion of those intensely hot early-mid afternoon 1ish to 4ish hours either eating down on restaurant row or dipping in Barton Springs... yesiree, the same distance as walking from stage to stage could also lead you to the most refreshing spring fed river ever )
Anyway, here's what I caught...
Friday
Joss Stone M.I.A Queens of the Stone Age Gotan Project (so very classy cool, a very unexpected surprise) The Killers Bjork (easily the best pure performance/specticle of the weekend)
Saturday
Mario Matteoli Stephan Marley Cold War Kids Arctic Monkeys Indigo Girls Arcade Fire
Sunday
Robert Earl Keen Common Bloc Party My Morning Jacket (my personal musical highlight of the entire weekend, and they threw us all an end of summer luau as the sun set in the distance ) Ziggy Marley Bob Dylan
Oh, and besides the music, there was ZERO price gouging going on ... 16oz Heineken/Heineken Light (and a dark beer, I forget which kind Zikenbocker maybe?) $4.00 Full 28 ounce bottle of local wine (in a plastic sport bottle, though I can't imagine drinking wine in that brutal sun) $24.00 Water/Soda/Soft Drinks $2.00 Other misc. merch--- pretty much the same prices as an average convenience store Food- I don't know, never had to eat there since there were great local restaurants right outside the gates and you could come and go as you please and NEVER face a line
Nowhere near as intense as Roo tends to get, but in my opinion, the mellowest most even tempered fest I've ever attended. I can't get over how absolutely incredible 9/13-9/17 was for me this year. I can't even imagine anything that could have made those 5 days away any better--- yup, time incredibly well spent, that's what I have to say... thanks Austin!!!!! ;D

This was another cool thing about ACL... There really wasn't any parking, so the majority of the crowd either walked from somewhere, or rode their bike. There was a field the size of a Football field lined with bike racks... rack upon rack upon rack with every inch of possible space used up, not to mention the entire fence around the park, and every pole or railing in site. If there were 65,000 people a day, I'd say at least 15-20,000 of them peddled their way in. It was really cool to see!!! This picture doesn't quite do it justice, but you get the idea...

Here are a few pics from ACL, for some reason (i.e. Alcohol) my pictures came out kinda crappy. Here are a couple of decent ones.
Front gate of ACL
Joss Stone. Her voice is so big.
Queens of the Stone Age was one of the best of the weekend. I want them at Bonnaroo 2008. I love them.
Stephen Marley
Drunken Hoodoo.
Damien Rice. Most unexpectedly amazing set of the weekend.
Sound Tribe Sector 9. Hot sweaty dance madness!
MMJ w/ Andrew Bird
MMJ w/ some pretty red balloons.
Jim James doin' some headbangin' (yes, that is a wig)
Theres a little shakedown everywhere! This is some bands gear, guessing Dylan or MMJ because this was between MMJ and Bob. (P.S. if you go to ACL, there is tons of glass everywhere when you leave each night!)

i couldn't believe the garbage I saw at ACL 2006 when leaving on Sunday night, the other thing I don't like about ACL is the fact that the bands don't get a lot of time, but then again in the hot Texas sun, could you really stand seeing a band for more than an hour, and there are also no stage tents there, well just one the WaMu but anyways ACL stills kicks ass, that and Bonnaroo are the 2 best fests in the country, well the only 2 I've been too, looking to make it to ACL and Roo in 2008.
