I woke up today with a nasty cold... I've been pounding vitamin C like woah today. I'm not letting any sickness spoil my fun this week!
heck, I may even get some substantial sleep tonight...
ha... just kidding
rest may be out of the question, but i think you'll be over your symptoms by Thursday, and def Friday - latest.
My g/f is sick right now (i'm not), and i'm terrified that i'll catch her bug
But look at this way, - at least you got sick BEFORE the festie, and not during. You'll have it out of your system and out of the way...completely ready to throw down!

You gonna have access to a computer in the swamp, jd?
Who's gonna do our updates??? ???
Good questions. I really don't know about internet, but I'll have my laptop. If no wi-fi on the Res, I'll atleast try find a hotspot somewhere, Tues. and Wed. nights (hopefully). If necessary I'll deputize somebody.
According to the company, they buy airtime from other cell companies and if there is ANY cell coverage in an area, their phones will work. I use this phone because I don't talk on it that much and I can buy 150 minutes of airtime for $15 and have 60 days to use it, so I sometimes only spend $7.50 a month for service. Unused minutes roll-over too, as long as you don't let time/minutes run out. They have these phones at many Wal-marts and K-marts. The one I use is available at WM for $30 and comes with 300 minutes included, so you basicly get the phone for free: www.walmart.com/catalog/catalog.gsp?cat=449051 So, if you know you're not going to have service, I would recommend picking one up. I will verify that it works there once I get there (around 6 pm Tues.) and get the word out.
Things are starting to escalate. My mind is in full Langerado prep mode. Work is not going to be accomplished this week. Thats allright though, since the end of the month was last week, thankfully (for those who work straight commission they understand). The list of items to prepare has been scribbled. Must do laundry tonight. Re-upping music on Ipod will be done tonight. Calling all friends and family to coordinate my extended weekend is first priority. MUST BUY GOLD BOND.
I am still a little pissed about VW, but using my old Walkmen cds to soften the blow. Plus I started listening to the New Mastersounds last night for the first time and that was the funkyness.
Also, I just want to apologize in advance if I am unable to meet up with you guys during the festival. I am going to make an effort, but with this festival, I am basically going with the flow of my buddy who is spotting me the ticket. We are still going to be doing the drive in everyday format, which hopefully works out. As long as traffic is not too bad, I think it will be ok. But hopefully, I will find a couple of hours to swing by camp inforado and say hello. Are there any plans on meeting at a brooers tent or anything like that? Well, I just looked at the map and there is no brooers tent, so there goes that idea.
Anyways, hopefully I will be able to find some of you guys during the weekend and we can grab a beer. We are at the final countdown. Things are good.

Thinking about grabbing one of these as a backup cell phone if nothing else. If I buy one down there, it'll have an FL area code though, right?

I believe when you program it, you can enter your home area code.
Any ideas if they will add someone to make up for the VW/RR deductions? It would be nice if they brought Modest Mouse since they are touring with REM and the National, but they might be too big to be adding this late in the game. It could boost ticket sales a little though.
I would be fine with just a good dj that they can throw into the Vampire weekend spot. DJ Craze would be great. He is out of Miami and is playing in south florida on Saturday night, so he is in town. Come on Langerado, give us something and not another Lee Boys show.
Not sure of the dates or when everyone is leaving, but wanted to wish you all a safe trip down and a great three days of enjoying music and each other! Happy travels!
