anybody got a copy of last year's schedule? how many stages and latenights do they have? based on what day artist's are playing, i'm trying to figure out what the schedule may end up looking like...i don't think it should be too hard to figure out...

I believe this is the first year they have had the late-nights on site, no??
"We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, movie gods, and rock stars. But we wont, and we're slowly learning that fact & we're very, very pissed off......."
I don't think I've still got a schedule anywhere. The latenights were off site in and around downtown Lauderdale. If memory serves me, there were three stages last year, but four in previous years. Since it's at a new location this year, it's hard to say what the set-up and schedule will be like.

last year, there was 2 stages, and 1 tent.
in previous years, i beleive the 4th stage featured local bands.
this year there are 5 stages.
and yes the previous years langerado was over by 10pm everyday at which point you had to leave the festival grounds, all the late night shows were in clubs in downtown ft.lauderdale.
this years late nights are being held on site. my best guess, the late nights wont be extensive. look for them to end by like 1-2am.
langerado has single day tickets availible for sale. people who purchase single day tickets will be admitted into the concert area but not the camp sites. every night the concert grounds have to be closed at some point, so they can get rid of all the single day people (so they dont try to stick around for the other days for free). so, dont count on late nights going till 6am like bonnaroo, they need to clear everyone out at some point and start prepping for the next batch of single day people to come in the next day.
no single day tickets for thursday though, so thursday will be special, as only all the campers will be on site to party down.
thursday is STACKED! i can't believe how much good music is on thursday...don't forget about pgroove and the new deal.
friday looks like indie / rockout day, saturday is clearly dance party day, and sunday is chill groove day. i'm very pleased with how they divided up the artists.
now i was crunching some numbers (i DO still have the schedule from last year) and have some interesting questions.
first a comparison of bands by day from last year to this:
FRIDAY 2007 vs 2008 : 14 vs 25
SATURDAY 2007 vs 2008 : 16 vs 27
SUNDAY 2007 vs 2008 : 16 vs 21
now if you divide the number of bands by day by the total number of stages (3 in '07, 5 in '08), you get almost the same average number of bands per stage (except sunday). i find this particularly curious since no music started before 12:00 noon last year, and no music went later than 10pm.
SO if there's the same average number of bands per stage per day, BUT there's no longer a 10pm curfew what does this mean?
i think it can only mean: 1) LONGER sets (average set length was probably between 1:10-1:20 hrs last year) or 2) NO SET TIME OVERLAP!
either way, i think this fest is going to flat out blow people away this year. i sure as hell know i'm not missing this for the world
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

Happy Hanukkah! Matisyahu Shabbat Returns to Langerado in 2008.
In 2008, Matisyahu will once again host a Friday night shabbat service at Langerado. Matisyahu performs on Saturday at the festival but will be joining the campers for Shabbat on Friday night. Shabbat, commonly referred to as the Jewish day-of-rest, begins at Sundown Friday night, and ends after sundown on Saturday night. Matisyahu and friends will be setting up Shabbat services, meals, and parties throughout the weekend. All activities are open and everyone and anyone. No knowledge of Shabbat is required, and meals will be open to all who attend. Campers are also free to stop by the Matisyahu Shabbat site at anytime throughout the festival simply to hang out, fire up a conversation, or mingle with new friends and old. More details of the shabbat service will be forthcoming soon and available at www.langerado.com.

Plane = verra expensive. Would also not get me close to where chick lives.
My airfare was soooo cheap... so I had to do a search to see what he meant by that, and OUCH, it was DOUBLE what it was from here ... and, the irony is, to get to chick's, 1st he'd have to fly to Newark, and then change to my plane before heading south... hey Wooz, if you do somehow end up going, I'll save you a seat!
wooz, I think if you somehow got to me and then drove with in my car it'd be too much time off because it'll take at least a day and a half to drive and if I don't spend at least a whole day at Chick's house she'd kill me.
but...
I'd feed you and corn you and stuff... whatever you need

wooz... If you can somehow get to Richmond I may be able to get you a free ride to the festie and back to Richmond. Just let me know if that would make it easier on your decision making.
It's too cold here. I need Florida. and live music, that'd be nice too! ;D

its possible, but its a ton of leave... I'll see how much I have when feb rolls through
How many days do you think you can take? Which airport is the closest to you? Staying an extra day will save you more than $50 on a plane ticket. Air Tran flies nonstop from Reagan to Ft Myers. $170 - $265 depending on days and times.
