Sounds like an awesome time. The festival's been literally a handful of acts away from getting me out there for the past couple years, but falling just short each time. I'll have to think about it seriously next year...
Exhausted, sunburnt, and sore as hell, but I had an amazing time. Did anyone else catch on to the fact that you could bypass lines/searches by taking a taxi directly into the festival area? We took advantage of this all weekend, it was awesome. The one time the taxi dropped us off behind the Chickee Hut stage and we walked right into the photographers section for Minus the Bear, got some great pics and gave beers to the guys in the band.
Just got back from the Philly airport and I'm gonna get to bed, but maybe I'll post some pictures later. Hope everyone else had as much fun as I did!
Sounds like everyone had a blast, good for all of y'all. I watched a good bit of the webcasts and they had some killer shows out there (I was quite close to going actually). Glad everyone had fun and is now back home safe and sound. Look forward to more pictures and thoughts from everyone. Now it's done with Inforoo distractions and back to the dreadful studying.
Am I the only one that didn't really understand the layout of this place? Spent 4 days walking around there and I still didn't know where all the stages were or how to get to them without using a map...
It was a long, wonderful, weird, chaotic, draining, but strangely revitalizing, trip. I'll have to apologize to all the Inforoosters I didn't get to see!! The biggest problem was that I didn't get onto my first flight on Wednesday night, which set me up for about a three hour nap, before rolling back into the airport for the Thursday morning flight, which I barely got on!! Then, we had a one hour mechanical delay in Denver, which held us up just long enough to fly right into the weather on Thursday. Our flight got queued up in a holding pattern for what seemed like forever, before we got diverted to Forty Myers to refuel, sit on the plane for an hour, and then make our second attempt at landing, which was nothing short of stomach dropping. The captain deserved some props for that. Soooooooooooooo...basically...things got pushed back a whole bunch, which, as you might imagine, set the stage for the festival spiral...off into the world of confusion.
I'll get to the actual fest thoughts later. Loved it. Loved it.
Glad to hear there aren't any horror stories after all the weather drama.

okay while im waiting for my pics to download...musical highlights/ random stuff for me this weekend..(well what i saw this weekend) *chikarado. Strum showing up. godwes and random hippies showing up. being VIP at chikarado. *find us to the left of the soundboard *Les Claypool - great way to start out the weekend *DSO- started there then walked over to P. Groove - I dont regret this - P. Groove was one of my favorite sets of the weekend...hells jea. *311 - the first few songs sounded fun *tres explanation points (!!!) they were sooo fun but sooo annoying. i will never forgive the lead singer for saying this: "well if we knew what kinda festival this was, i wouldnt have cut my hair." "just kidding" "we love you guys......sorta" shutup you annoying hipster . still loved it tho. it felt like latenight over at the chikee hut. *finding corndogs right before !!!. flipping out over said corndogs *beastie boys - because you cant you wont and you dont stop. it was fun to see them. i liked when the made everyone raise there hand. ever the gators and the cows. *bassnector dropping frank sinatra. that was insane. and his hair blowing in the wind. the storm brewing... *sts9 - i was there. i danced. ;D *walking back to camp as the storm was coming..sitting in the shade tent with strum and wooz and someone else (cant remember someone help me out) waiting for the storm to end... *railroad earth - the weather was perfect for this, blowing lots of bubbles with almostcertain, dancing with my flowy dress..one of my favorite sets of the weekend. *tried to see the avett brothers but it got cancelled listened to state radio while waiting... Thievery Corporation - holy hell. they went off. dont understand why they havent been at roo yet. soooooo much fun..danced my hiney off. Medeski Scofield Martin and Wood - ok. wish i woulda caught ghostland instead. heard good things R.E.M. - missed it on purpose to prep for late night. the sneaky hippy (dudewheresmyroo) sneaking up on us at camp! Pelican - sounded soooo cooL! must download some of his stuff Disco Biscuits - felt like i was on a UFO the entire set. it was ridic obviously. late night freeze on saturday night. all sorts of madness. almost falling in a swamp. the drum circle...the 12 things we needed. etc etc sunday.... keller - so fun..altho i wish i would have checked out a little grace potter mule - hungerstrike. enough said me and woozes shopping / food adventure. getting woozies dresss opinion. phil...wow. wow. and wow. amazing phil show. couldnt have ended the wekened better really. the dudes behind us who were so obsessed with not letting anyone walk by. jasons glowstick throwing arm.
just an awesome weekend. im sure im missing 3284384823483 things. but yeah. im fried.

you know i actually didn't really even mind the tent, just makes for a more interesting experience lol. other than all that though it was amazing, fantastic shows, fantastic people. you can't get better than that
