I also remember that walk back while the storm was brewing with becs, strum, and rockinhood... Strum and I very defiantly drank beer and smoked cigarettes until the storm ended.

Yeah, so I missed my flight on Monday morning. I was only there 30 min early so I had to book another flight. In the end I didnt get out of Fort Lauderdale until 630 in the evening and got home around 1 am.
And....yes it was that good and i"ll be there again next year.
Yeah, I'm 6'2", and he was like 3 inches taller than me...
Was anyone at camp when 2 girls and a dude came strolling through with balloons (no idea what day), and the dude had obviously had his fill, stumbled a bit, and in the midst of his fall, tried to land on Chef's hammock. Of course his hasty descent was too much for the hammock's stability, and it flipped up on one end.
They were all pretty obviously enjoying their balloons, and of course could NOT stop laughing at him. One even made him stay all upended so she could take a pic. ;D
I’m sure other Langerado attendees will have something to add to this but…the weather at the fest was completely nuts. As background, my wife and I have been camping at festivals for many years so we figured that after experiencing the calf-deep mud of Bonnaroo 2004, the 110 degree dust storms of ACL 2005 and any number of other weather challenges we were pretty prepared. I’m here to tell you that nobody was prepared for the weather freak-out that was Langerado 2008.
The wind on Thursday and Friday made the simple act of setting up a tent a YouTube-worthy event. I’m talking about sustained 20 mph wind with tent-collapsing 30 mph gusts for two days. The situation was made more comical since everyone was attempting to stake their tents into loose sand. In the end, you just packed the four corners of your tent with beer and water and hoped that it would still be there when you came back from the show.
Thursday night’s rain storm was a good one but for sheer laugh out loud absurdity I preferred the Friday night deluge. An electrical storm that seemed to center itself over our tent got the party started but it was the 3:00AM wind-driven sideways rain that shot straight up the side of our tent under the rainfly that really got our attention.
We thought we were in the clear on Saturday morning (the sand soaked up water like a champ and the wind did an outstanding job of drying out everybody’s wet gear) and everybody headed to the show under clear blue skies. You will probably think I am making this up but at that point the only remaining form of bad weather that we had not been exposed to – ridiculous cold – began to move in and the temperature dropped like a stone. By 9:00PM Saturday night it was about 40 degrees and the line at the coffee vendor was about five times as long as the beer line.
We had fun, the lineup was great and our camp neighbors were fantastic but if you plan on going next year, throw your winter tent spikes and spring skiing gear in with your sunscreen and Bonnaroo mud boots - you will need them all.

I was just over the fence in VIP from your camp. I could see the inforoo flag as soon as I parked but the two times I wandered over to meet people the entire camp was empty! Oh well, I'm glad too see so many inforooers got together and made it through the crazy weather. I swear, that was an anomaly! It's already back to mild days and nights with a low of 70 degrees. Langerado managed to hit the one crazy weekend of weather all winter!
I'm sure I am going again next year as this is by far the easiest fest for me to do so I'll have to meet you all next time!
did anyone witness the Hell yeah F*ck ya chic, the dance party on bridge on saturday night, or the huge tent that had a all night rave going at all hours.. man those were seriously some of my favorite memories.. One thing i regret is being soo messed up on thursday that i had to leave p groove because the music was melting my head.. I think i should have gone to DSO but really wasnt thinking about it..

Dudes... I just now got back!!
All I can say is Garcia was spot on when he said "What a long, strange trip it's been."
To start off with, we more or less were out of oil in my friend Scott's car when we arrived at Big Cyprus, but luckily we had bought oil on the way so once we parked and set up camp and got things going we refilled the oil. We later realized this only created ginormous problems later.
When we left the festival on Monday morning we drove 3 hours north to Vero Beach, FL and stopped to get gas. When I got out of the car I realized there was some steam coming from under the hood of the car and I told Scott we should check it out. When we popped the hood open the mother-effer burst into GIANT FLAMES!!![/color]
So there we were... at a 711 in Vero-friggin-Beach, FL with our engine on fire right in front of a gas pump. After some frantic fire extinguishing and a visit from the fire dept. we finally got the hood completely open and we noticed that the oil cap was sitting upside down right next to where it should be screwed on. Apparently we never put the oil cap back on after refilling it
So we spent all Monday afternoon trying to figure how the fuck to get from Vero Beach to Harrisonburg, VA without a car, because that bastard was totaled and towed away to the junkyard. We ended up finding a friend of a kid's dad in our car who lived an hour away who drove to pick us up while we found a train leaving from Kissime, FL to Richmond, VA and it left at 630. We sped all the way to the train station to catch it in time, but it turns out it was late anyways so we had plenty of time. A nice 17 hour train ride during which we crushed all the leftover beer from the weekend and a few other cornish favors during stops and had a blast on the train, then once we got to Richmond my roommate's mom was willing to pick us up and bring us back to Harrisonburg.
Luckily during all of this mayhem nobody was hurt and all our luggage is good, except it kinda smells like smoke. Oh, and my corning pipe that I bought fell out of my pocket at the 711 when I jumped back realizing that the engine was on fire, so there went $30
Despite the hellacious ride back... holy friggin shi-ite what a weekend ;D ;D ;D ;D
...and yeah, I'm 6'4 without shoes on. I did find one other person who holds the "Tallest person at Langerado" title... but I humbly accept 2nd place

The fest was good. I got to meet Sam Bush, and I had a pretty cool conversation with the school of rock all-stars. Fourteen year olds should not be that good.
