I would be willing to trade to Miami for Menudo though.
Agreed. While I love Ricky Scaggs I am thinking that I probably wouldn't see him if I were in NYC for free. I am making plans to go to the DC one. Should be fun. SF looks nice and the other cities look like there might be a few but I am not sure how New York got what it did.

If I wasn't going to 420, I'd be at the DC show for sure....
But.. seriously... I must go to 420fest. Its the ultimate its-almost-summer kickoff party
I live in Northern VA not far from Winchester. Do you really recommend the 420 fest thing? How is the corn there?
I once asked wooz a similar question, and this was his response:
Ok man picture this..
A camping trip. Add beer(You can take it anywhere! no security once inside! no checkpoint!) Add copius amounts of other things you might be interested in purchasing(btw, at this spot, everything is everywhere.. if you want something, wait, it will come to you) Add awesome people
Ok, thats convincing enough for me, but then you...
Add drum circles Add lots of cool doodie for sale from cool vendors who will let you bang on their drums till your hearts content(One dude let me borrow a drum to take to a drum circle, even if i didnt want to buy it, he said just bring it back when done which I did)
Ok... then on top of all of that Add a stage, with bands playing till the wee hours of the morning. You may not know many of them, and some of them aren't the best bands in the world, but they're all decent, and the latenight ones ARE awesome.

Wow! DC usually gets the shaft on stuff like this, Woo Hoo!!!!!! 15 minute walk for me. I bet security will be super tight though, kind of a damper on the 4:20 aspect of it.

I dunno, I went to a free concert on the Mall in DC for a war protest a while ago, and there wasn't any security to be seen anywhere.

True, I went to that too. I have seen the complete opposite also, I was nearly arrested for refusing to take off an anti-war shirt at some cheezy thing related to monday night football with Brittany spears, there were 100,000 people there, but since it was a sponsored event, AOL and ABC had a dress code that apparently was legal because it was somehow a private event.

For the DC event, what is everyone planning on doing for the day? I really want to celebrate the holiday but I've heard that it might be really tight with security. Or do you think it will be like the lawn for a regular concert?
"I want you to notice When I'm not around You're so fücking special I wish I was special But I'm a creep I'm a weirdo What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here" -Radiohead
“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.” -Benjamin Franklin
Apparently the Roots are going on around 6, but I haven't seen much else about a schedule other than the whole thing kicking off at noon I think. If the weather is as great as it is today, no reason not to go!
Wow, I did not know about this. If I weren't going up to Atlanta the weekend after for Santana/Derek Trucks, I would definetly hit this up. It has a pretty decent line-up for free.
