Mine is much like yours but two differences in the last two: 1.At Dawn 2.Z 3.It Still Moves 4.Tennessee Fire
In no way does this mean I dont like all of them almost equally, looking at Tennessee Fire at the bottom almost makes me wanna move it up, I dont know its confusing
Also although its not on your list I wanna throw an EP in there "Chocolate & Ice" just for the song Cobra which I love and when they play it live it rules...
1. At Dawn (by a wide margin) 2. It Still Moves 3. Z 4. Chocolate & Ice EP (it's like 45 minutes -- qualifies as an album in my book) 5. Tennessee Fire
Question from a casual MMJ listener, comparatively speaking how is the production of At Dawn and Tennessee Fire compare to later efforts. Is it heavy on the reverb or a little more straightforward?
Reverb is heavy on all their albums, but it was toned down in a big way for Z.
Tennessee Fire leans a little too much on the 'verb. With the following albums it becomes more a part of their style, than a crutch. Regardless though, I loves me some MMJ reverb...
I had to give some love to It Still Moves; it was looking rather sad with no votes. That was the first of theirs that I heard, so there's a sentimentality factor there. How can you argue with One Big Holiday, Steam Engine, Golden, and Mahgeeta?
dudezer - Tennessee Fire is pretty rough production-wise. The band did everything themselves, so I look at it as a learning album. From each album after that, the production gets progressively more "polished." With Z, however, they did lay off the reverb a bit, partially because it was their first record not literally recorded in a barn.

i love how far they have come, its like watching your child grow up. my fav. is always changing with them, it really depends on the mood it hits me in. kinda like Floyd in a way, sometimes i'm lovin some Animals, next week i'm obsessed w/ Meddle, and three days later i cant get enough of Wish you were here....thats the beauty of music i guess.....

That is a very good EP as well. Their Ep's give me just that little extra expiramentation that I like about MMJ. When they played Cobra in 04 I flipped out...Very Sweet
