Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Anyone familiar with the The Flaming Lips knows how much fun this is. If anyone wants to get something together let me know.
the album was designed so that four tracks(CD's) of one song, when played simultaneously on four separate audio systems, would produce a harmonic or juxtaposed sound. The discs may be included in different combinations, omitting one, two or three discs.
ive had zaireeka for a while and have "experienced" this cd a couple times. this would take 4 seperate boomboxes, and multiple batteries, but it being done at bonnaroo would be ridiculously good
Zaireeka is the coolest trippiest experience music wise I've ever been apart of as far as home listening. I've done the "Zaireeka experiment" on numerous occasions and have found a different unique and amazing experience everytime. Definitely worth it if your into altering your mind (especially substance free). I would be totally down to be apart of a Zaireeka party. Just tell me when and where!!!!!
"Disobedience, in the eyes of anyone who has read history, is man's original virtue. It is through disobedience and rebellion that progress has been made." Oscar Wilde (1854 - 1900), The Soul of Man Under Socialism
"You're either on the bus or off the bus." Ken Kesey
"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro." Hunter S. Thompson
They hold Zaireeka events from time to time down here in Austin. Never been, but I've heard they're pretty fun. It'd be a great thing to put together at an inforoo get together if we're feeling ambitious...
As far as equipment if your car has a cd player it can be used, Originaly the the parking lot experiments used cars and that was experimenting for Zaireeka.
I know That Im riding down on the greyhound so a stereo is kinda out of question. and as far as setting a time and place I think we should wait for the band times to be posted
This would be good stuff, but it might be difficult to organize, with people bringing stereo equipment to some central place.
I have a copy as well, I wonder if it is even crazier if we can get 8 or 12 cds going(even though it might be more difficult it might be out of control). I do have a couple of boomboxes, but they would not provide alot of bass.
Maybe if we get screwed on a Lips late-night set, we can just substitute it with a Zaireeka 4 in the morn' session, after Sound Tribe.
I really like the thought of Zaireeka in the wee hours of the morning
As far as multiple 4-CD sets playing at the same time I think it would get a bit crazy but as long as everyone started their CD it would be fine its the imperfections that make it special along with the disorienting effects of course

Zaireeka is incredible, I have done it a few times and everytime it gets more enjoyable. If you like to "take trips" to far off places, you should try some zaireeka, it'll guaranteed blow your mind. Anyone else think this is the best lips album out there? Also, what're the chances that the lips will bust out some zaireeka at bonnaroo? I'd love to see the big ol' bug live.
mrtoast I like the idea on the last thread of walking around shakedownn.... I think if we do it, we should do it on shakedown so other people can experience it too..
Thanks boomerang! We must think alike. It would be an experience thats for sure! walking around on shakedown would be easier in smaller numbers I would assume. But if we could get a bunch of people patrolling shakedown it would be really nuts. If enough people participate we could even spread throughout shakedown. plus no mater where everyone is all the Cd's will end about the same time then we could have a spot to meet back up.
Just another off the wall idea it would be great if we could do it at the sonic forest or at least prove interesting. do they allow small stereos into centeroo?
Looks sweet, the boomboxes are gonna have to be totally different sizes, hopes it still works.
if your talking about any boomboxes you would bring it dosent matter at all about size or quality for that matter some cairity is needed but i have used crackly speakers before and it added an interesting touch
I have had an overwhelming response with all of this many e-mails are coming in everyday. "Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed Fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio." -Hunter S. Thompson
