So Relix magazine has a reader's poll and asks how frequently you go to shows. The lowest answer is one per week. Now I defy you to find a 46-year old, married, fully employed, father of teenagers who rocks as hard as I do. But not even I make it to a show a week. So that's why I'm putting the question out there.
In terms of definitions, a show means seeing an individual artists or group play at least a full set. If you stay for less than a set, it doesn't count. If you stay for multiple sets by the same artist (and his/her/its guests), it's still one show. If you go to a festival you can count as a separate show each separate performance that meets the definition. You can't count performers who aren't the focus of attention (e.g. the guy playing in the bar that you didn't come to see and aren't paying any attention to).
well im sure you know your area pretty well. but you could see 100 shows just at all good and the sunshine daydream fests (both in wv.) i am actually planning to relocate some time soon. somewhere inside the box fromed by connecting legend valley, nelson ledges, marvins mountaintop(all good), and sunshine daydream. gotta be closer to the action. northern michigan sux.

well....I count those as like, one each. If this meant performences then It would probably be considerably more. I've never been to All Good or Sunshine Daydream....honestly, the stuff that is normally at All Good generally isnt my thing....usually just a few bands that I'd want to see. And Ive only heard of Sunshine Daydream...never really paid attention to the lineups though.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**

I go to about 50 a year give or take a few (this year will probably be less). Used to be around 51-75 when i lived at home in high school and all of my money went to shows.

Only saw 19 shows last year, but most were big-ass shows like Radiohead or B.B. King, not local bar shows. One of those shows was free, but I spent an average of over $60 on all the other 18.

Counting festivals as one and shows as one (in other words, tickets not bands) I'm probably around 15. I used to go through a LOT more, but I sort of outgrew my punk phase which cut out a lot of local bands I used to see all the time.
