Porcupine Tree is a band from Europe that has been around a good while. They're touring this summer but the closest they're getting to me is 8 hours away and in a very small venue. Seems to me that they would be an excellent fit for summer festivals, if not Bonnaroo then one of the others like Wakarusa or 10kLakes. But could it be no one else listens to them? I mean, really, they're playing in a basement! They are considered "prog", but so is Umphrey's in Europe. I like 'em- anybody else?
They're one of my all-time favorite bands. I saw them at Bogarts in Cincinnati and it was really amazing. I'd love to see them at Bonnaroo, but I think SW is working on a new PT album. Personally, I'd love it if he and Aviv brought Blackfield onto Bonnaroo. (If you havent listened to them, you should. Both of their albums are spectacular)
I've only ever heard 'shallow' from PT, i think i got it in an iTunes sampler or something like that. i like the song, I'd probably see them sometime if they were playing locally.
