This band is a really cool 60s revivalist band with a lot of talent. There have been over 20 different band members since they formed in the 90's, some of them leaving to create bands such as Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and the Warlocks. If you go to brianjonestownmassacre.com you can download all of their albums.
If you're interested in them, go buy (or download) the movie "Dig". Insanely wonderful documentary about Brian Jonestown Massacre, and The Dandy Warhols (another great band), and the relationship of the bands' members. One of the best documentaries ever made, imo.

What do you mean a little? He's a psychopathic heroin addcit!!! Haha, I saw him in CA when I took my annual trip out west to visit my cousin at some street festival. He played a great, stable set for an hour, but when his time was up and they started to yell at him for not getting off the stage, he flipped out. He played a couple more songs and kept directing his lyrics to the directors and security guards of the festival. Then, after about 20 min, the people on the sound board got on the mikes and told him to get off the stage half-way into a song. In retaliation, Anton started to remove the mikes and the wiring from the stage and hand them out to he audience, who were so overjoyed to have new presents from Anton. He yelled at the festival workers and audience members a little more, then finally, left the stage in a barrage of curse words.
...........Quite possibly one of my favorite shows ever. What an amazing sing writer, too bad he's a wreck. Although, I tend to think geniuses live in their own state of mind. I.E. Miles Davis, Einstein, etc.

Yes, Anton is a little weird. He is still doing BJM. He IS BJM. The band is still together, Anton played a solo show with his guitarist Rob in Feb in Cleveland. (it sucked, he cant just play, he needs drama) They have not played much recently but they are as together as they ever are. Rob is working with my Friends band called the Stereo Workers Union from Cleveland and both Rob and Anton assisted in the recording of their debut album. Rob was a producer on the album. He is currently touring with his band. Personally I think BJM are 100x better live (as a full band) then in studio. The studio work is cleaner and the live shows are fuzzy dirty and they jam out alllll over the place and you don't get Antons drama anymore. They played for over 3 hours last time I saw them. One song had to be about 45 mins. I have said this for the past 3 years, they would make a great night time Roo set.
Robs band, The Quarter After, are playing some shows as well as a Columbus Show at Carabar with Stereo Workers Union way out in July, I'll see you there, remember theres never a cover charge at Carabar!

I have a really good DVD boot that is about 1 hour of a show if you are interested. Its great quality. I have no idea if I can get it back to a state where its able to be shared thou. I got it from dimeadozen.org.
The official site has a few shows you can download as well. Its hard to locate boots of these shows for some reason, not many tapers checking them out.

One of my all-time favs...
Everyone thinks Anton is a dick, but I can totally relate to him. He just cares so much about the music that he creates and puts out. I really respect him for never selling out; he does everything on his own terms.
