www.skinnypuppy.com/tour.html Personally, I'm absolutely psyched about this! I missed them on the Greater Wrong Of Right tour, and now that they're gonna be in ATL, I'm gonna go to that, I'm buying a ticket immediately.
I have a story thats not too relevant to the tour, but it involves Ogre of Skinny Puppy. In the summer of 2003 I interned for Eagle Rock/Spit Fire records. I worked in the promotions department sending out anything from Autograph CD's to Autographed guitars and what not to radio stations that advertised the label's artists for contests.
One day my boss had to take the day off and left me in charge to set up these conference call interviews between Ogre(he was in a doctor's office in Cali) and college radio stations throughout the day. This was a pain to do, but I managed to get most of the stations connected.
All was good that day with the interviews until 4:00 pm when I was in the middle of setting up one of the stations and the power just went out! I was like WTF?! Within minutes of the power going out, we ( my co-workers) were getting word on a battery operated radio that there were blackouts throughout parts of the east coast and Canada. At first, we were thinking it was another terrorist act, but to our relief it wasn't. We ended up going down the stairwell and going over to the bar next to us where I sat for 5 hours while my company picked up the bar tab (it was a $750 tab between 14 people) I did never find out if those last couple interviews were ever made up..probably not. Anyways, that is my rant of a story.
