the orange peel in asheville north carolina is sure getting the cool shows but the town is a little out of the way. i found a cheap clean hotel with free parking and free breakfast. its always full of rockers when there is a concert so its laid back but it also has a locked lobby for security. its right across from the little art arcade and about a 15 minute walk to the peel. its about five minute walk from the corner of the little bar district. it has a new pool to boot!
the rates were very reasonable. i think i paid 53 in the off season.

The Days Inn is on Patton Avenue

Hendersonville is 25 minutes away.

Downtown Asheville is worth the extra cost.
Streets are real pedestrian friendly.

When you are in town check out the city's free weekly
paper,The Mountain Express that comes out Wednesdays.
